Yes but their point still stands I guess. We traded out so we wouldn't have to use that pick on Thomas and got Polec in addition, when the go these days is to trade ahead of the bid so you get 2 for 1. We got 2 for 1, it's just one of those 2 was Polec, lol.
It wasn't an option to live trade for a future pick back then, which will be Essendon's next move on draft night if Kako is bid on with a pick before their pick 9. They will be calling everyone with a F1.

Think this is all about Butters. Butters, from what I’ve heard, which is albeit not a lot that is verifiable, wants to head home in 2025, is a few whispers going around. Watkins is good friends with Butters from my understanding. May be an attempt to keep him around.

Watkins is a good player in his own right but I’m unsure what POD he’d have on their list.
So, if Port don't rookie Watkins, we offer him a rookie spot next year, perhaps if ...

I thought the mail is that Houston wants to go to Collingwood?
Like the Carlton near-certainty a week ago, the pies favouritism is up for debate. The pies became ‘favourites’ because the media thought they were getting pick 13 in a noble + picks deal. Given the complete uncertainty over whether the pies get 13, whether 13 + Richards is enough for port (which is doubtful) and that Houston has not actually nominated anyone yet, the pies favouritism is still quite debatable. The media are sticking to it largely because of their large club bias and don’t know enough to say otherwise.

What remains actually solid is our deal and that we have the higher picks to satisfy port. Houston is reportedly in Melbourne today meeting with pies, us and Carlton.

Most likely scenario is he stays and we trade out pick 2 for our own drafting purposes.

Thanks mate. Didn’t think we were in the race because the only place Houston has been linked to North is in here. I knew that North wanted him, didn’t know that he was considering it.

Then all on here would be up in arms that we traded pick one and missed out on him a no win situation for the club. What support would have helped How do you know we didn't offer all the support possible or are you just guessing we didnt.
You can’t be serious can you?

Whilst I’m sure the club thought they were doing all they could (a generous assumption), hindsight points to that it was as bad a run football club as we will see. At that time, David Noble was our coach (no longer in the AFL). Ben Amarfio our CEO (no longer in the AFL). Brady Rawlings was our GM of Footy (demoted and survived because of his association with the club). Tarryn Thomas his closest friend (no longer in the AFL).

Jason was/is immature. However, anyone arguing that the club provided him the best possible support to set him up for success in our state and football club is f*kn delusional.

I am just relaying media reporting. We aren’t talked about as much because we haven’t offered picks this year yet.

Not only that he was telling all the campaigners at the milk factory that he wanted to be in Adelaide.

Who is this years version of Neale?

25 year olds coming off the previous 4 years he had with Freo becoming available don't come around often.

I was just countering the argument that Bris traded in all these players once they were successful. They didn't they traded in players, for high draft picks before they jumped up the ladder (as well as while they were up top). If we wait to trade in A-Grade talent until we are playing finals, we may never will.

We shouldn't pay too much, but we should what we can to get Houston without damaging our draft hands too much. I would be happy with no first next year (or a late first ) if we could get Houston in

ITK it's time we stop 🛑 talking about JHF , let it go and move on. Seriously I've been outside for a few hours come back in and put myself through 5 pages of this. For the love off god .
2024 trade thread 90% whingers about jhf and boomer.
Get over it.
Time to move on was years ago in both cases.

FWIW, I haven't heard anything RE player contract situations. The only stuff coming out is trade period info which hasn't really made much progress.

Players are on break and working towards the goals set by the club. Also, Wardlaw is best mates with Sheezel. They are in it for the long haul.

Yeah, one of the deleted posts last night was trying to say they dislike each other which is way from fact.

Yes killing it all the way into the bottom 2 for a 5th straight year. Kudos for at least giving me one thing the NMFC has got wrong. :stern look
