I listened to my first bit of trade radio this morning and they (Kane and whoever was on with him early) said exactly this - they said if North land Houston, Parker and Daniel as well as Darling (even though not convinced about Darling’s value) the club should be looking at around eight wins next season and be pushing for finals the season after.
I know its not a like for like comparison but remember when Man City landed Robinho after they were bought by Sheikh Mansour.
They landed a talented footballer who then changed the image of the club and all of a sudden more quality players started to show interest.

Even when we landed Dal Santo in 2013 and then got Higgins and Waite the year after.

Landing Houston could be that moment that takes us from basket case to a competitor again.
Just need some luck for once

If we're intent on trading our F1, which it seems like we are, would we consider this? Or maybe F1 for Tigers 10 which they'll get from Freo for Bolton? Even if the Houston deal fell over we take that pick to the draft.

I think in both cases we're paying overs, pick F1 – 5 for 10 or 11, but it seems a risk we're prepared to take given we're intent / desperate to improve rapidly.

our F1st to GC for pick #13 which we offer to Port for Houston..

once that deal is done then offer our Pick#2 for Melbournes Pick#5 and #9

So West Coast just trade something of similar value for 12, 14 + Owies and are universally shit canned, yet some of our supporters are happy to to just get 13?!

Do some think we are odds on for finals next year!?

I think Richmond would be more interested in getting 2 off our hands.

And the funny thing there is Robinho thought he was signing for Machester United.

There's certainly some fun parallels.

Our F1 is as valuable as Pick 2. Until we prove otherwise.

Possibly even more so in not as even a draft with the possibility our F1 is a pick which precedes a lot of Acadamy and FS selections.

Would you trade Pick 2 for Pick 11 now?

Gotta disagree. This isn’t waiting until the night is done because one of the drunk chicks might bite. There’s a finite amount of elite players up for grabs in any window.

We’re in the dance because we’ve been asked to stay. Melbourne were asked to leave, so were the Saints. Like any player that comes into our club, most probably with dreams of other colours, we make them love us til death do we part.
We're playing the friend zone and hanging around hoping that we're the only one left. But there's no shame in my game. If it gets us Houston then it was worth it.

We would have traded the F1 for 13 yesterday if we could, no doubt this should be a target for us if Houston falls down. With Freo after Warner we might be able to tempt a sweetener too.

It could just be on the money for a Tauru type, should he get past the Saints and Demons.
