Done.
I like it! Doubt we get Dogs' F3 and Swans' F4 in that scenario, but maybe I'm too pessimistic. Even without those, we get what we need.

The commodities you don't have access to still form part of the overall pool though, and are still taking up places in the same junior.programs and u18 competitions. The point is pick 25 in a year where there are no academy/FS picks has a higher worth than pick 25 in a year where there are five academy/FS picks.

So it should be valued accordingly. Pretending academy players don't exist or aren't on clubs' ranking orders is silly.
It really doesn’t because in both situations you still only have access to the same 25 players.

Again you are confusing rankings with value.

Why should I value a player differently because in one situation he has pick 6 against his name and in another he has pick 11.

Same player. In that situation Pick 6 and 11 have the exact same value because I got the exact same commodity. Just because the commodity is not ranked the 6th best, from a value perspective it’s the exact same thing.

I think a pick in the 50's coming back with Daniel and we take his whole salary is more than fair.

Same goes with the Swans, give them some salary cap relief for 12 month, improve their hand next year and we get a pick in the 60's back.

Agree it would be fair. I'm working on the assumption that Keane and Power will be dicks. And our commitment to bring in experience will lead us to acquiesce. I'll be stoked to be proven wrong.

I don’t need validation, it’s simple economics.

If you can convince me that if the same player taken with pick 6 is a lesser version than that exact same player that is taken with pick 11 because players you never had access to push out their ranking, then I will concede defeat.

I'm not trying to convince of that, that is obvious. Say that player is the 10th best player in the pool, then he is still the 10th best player whether he goes at pick 6 or pick 11. In this assumption he has just gone at pick 6 as someone has a greater need for his skill set than someone else but he is still the 10th best

Yep, Parker is not happening.

Can't see it not happening.... he has said his goodbyes, has agreed to our longer term deal.... swans aren't going to treat a champion of the club like that

Do we even know if our 44 has been offered/rejected yet

Richmond finish bottom and have the talent to ship off for 6 first round picks. We finish bottom and all we can do is delist the plodders and go to the draft with 1 first rounder. Amazing difference in position.

** Looks up how many R1 picks we had last year and shakes head at the whining *

And I doubt there's a player as good as McKercher in this draft.

Same, now how happy we'll all be when we find out what needed to be handed over is another matter...
