I reckon we might be underrating how important it has been this off-season that no-one asked for a trade out. The fact that the boys can look at the squad as only being improved by the trade and draft period must give some mental edge, even if it's just the absence of feeling like quality needs to be replaced internally.

It's slight overs. Clinging on to 11 was worth it just for the extreme anxiety it'd cause West Coast on draft night.

But...it's a deal for one of the game's premier forwards, who's also a handy midfielder. We struggled at times this year because we couldn't convert stoppage dominance into scoreboard pressure. Bolton immediately provides a fix to that problem on a number of levels.

We still have the option of grabbing a genuinely good young player on draft night and have additional capital next year thrown in. It's definitely not the worst outcome, especially if we're working hard on another big fish in 2025.

Doesn't really seem like anyone asked for a trade anywhere to be honest. Maybe Houston, maybe Smith?

Richmond F3 should be between 40-45.

So for us effectively we got 10 + 11 + 18 for Bolton + Baker + F3. Feels about right to me.

Hope Freo fans are happy and I'm wishing Shai the best of luck. Going to miss seeing him play for us tbh, I think he's the cream player you need and I loved watching him play when we were a good side, but he's wasted in a crap side.

It helps that we've locked down a massive chunk of the people that are critical to the push on long term deals - shows faith

If we get 100 more games and 150 goals from Bolton it’s a win. If there are still regular games for the likes of Banfield ONeara Walters and Emmett (fantastic blokes but not premiership b22), then we’re still a way off the mark. Sturt, Dris, Simpson DeLean need a big 2025.
Firstly congratulations Freo fans you have a gun player that tears teams apart and im sure you will love him as much as we did and as much as you love sunny walters.

The trade is fair and both teams gave a little but was always going to be 10,11,18 for Richmond with the B1 & B2 trades
and freo were happy to pay that so very fair (only the supporters on this site want to win the banter)

Back to the post im replying to Bolton will play 7-8 years min for Fremantle as he is still only 25 year old and turns 26 in december so he plays his 8th year as a 33 year old

You will get 150 games min from him and 250+ goals in 8 years easily
We will miss him but we had him when we needed him and he is better in a good team so wouldnt have had his best next 3-4 years so this is actually a Win / Win / Win

Well done

Yep, thank ****. Stoked we've added Bolton but equally happy we've finally had a trade period where we didn't bleed any best 25 players.

Any of you who are salty will change your tune by round 1. One of the most unique and talented players I've ever seen pull on the Richmond jumper. No one can create goals out of nothing better than this guy. Insane agility.

Honestly, at his best he is worth a top 5 pick but he wasn't going to be at his best in a poor team. I think this trade will work out in the end for both teams.

Considering the draft calculators are valuing this trade as Bolton for pick 4, I think this is ended up a fair trade all things considered. You guys complete an all-time draft haul for your regeneration and we get an absolute weapon to help us gun for a flag.
Win-win IMO.

And how much chat has there been about Bolton going to West Coast? Not fan chat but actual media. Zero, because everyone knows he's chosen Fremantle as the club. Jackson likewise, not sure he ever mentioned Fremantle as his club of choice yet every single person knew where he was going.

Chad will have a choice and he will get to that club.

You just proved my point. The reason there was no chat about Bolton to WC is because they didn’t have the trade capital to do it. I agree all the chat has been Warner to Freo but you just watch how that changes if WC get an extra F1st in the Barass trade and we don’t trade for a future first as was expected before the trade period. As I said people who think WC having way more draft capital to use on Warner doesn’t matter are delusional.
