So effectively there's a decent chance 2 of our 4 remaining list spots (I'm assuming Knobel re-listing happens) will go to Narkle and Jaren Carr? And Jaren would get a senior list spot in that circumstance? Unless Jaren's somehow still Cat B rookie eligible as a former NGA...I don't mind either move in isolation, but combined it feels a bit wasteful.

Wouldn't qualify for the NGA is my understanding. Father sons often train with NGA players at other teams and that's probably what happened with Carr.

The age mock draft

The AFL draft is just weeks away. Here’s where the top-40 prospects could land

17. Joe Berry (Fremantle)

Murray Bushrangers/Vic Country
Forward, 181cm, 18/4/2006
Talent League stats (avg): 14.4 disposals, 1.9 goals, 6.7 score involvements
The Age’s August top 30: 16 October top 30: 15
Agility test: N/A 20m sprint: N/A 2km time trial: N/A

Berry is a beauty, and someone recruiters rave about for his speed, running power, agility and goalkicking nous. He runs hard defensively, too. The common belief is Berry will develop quickly once he joins an AFL club, and his skill set and physical assets are ideal for the modern high half-forward role. He could also push up onto a wing, and talent scouts can envision him providing some midfield minutes as well. The Dockers’ list is in good shape without any glaring weaknesses, so they can pick the best player available here. Taj Hotton is also an option.

19. Ollie Hannaford (GWS Giants)

GWV Rebels/Vic Country
Forward, 180cm, 1/9/2006
Talent League stats (avg): 16.7 disposals, 9.5 contested possessions, 1.2 goals
The Age’s August top 30: N/A October top 30: 20
Agility test: 7.92 secs 20m sprint: 2.95 secs 2km time trial: 7:26 mins
Hannaford’s draft stocks rocketed in the last two months of the year, with his mid-season switch to attack unlocking his potential after he started down back. He is tough as nails, ultra-competitive and boasts a great combination of speed and power – as evidenced at the Victorian combine – that makes him a match-up nightmare. Hannaford’s 2km time was underwhelming, but recruiters largely dismissed it as an issue and were confident he would improve in an AFL system rather than living in a boarding house.

Only issue with Carr is if we're committed to Knobel and Narkle there won't be a list spot.

Then I would expect it to be the same as the Waterman brothers at WC being picked with the last pick we take in the draft, which after pick forty would only need "the next pick" we have anyway so it might mean we sit in the draft right to the end, trading out if anyone wants a slightly better pick.

How many picks do we have in the main and rookie draft?

Did anyone confirm this?

2 year deal for Jack Martin

That only leaves 1 spot on the rookie list, for Narkle I assume.
I thought one of the news stations said we were no longer keen neither Narkle nor Carroll.

I’m assuming we upgrade a player from rookie list and add Knobel and Jaren Carr as f/s via rookie list. I’d expect Carr to passed over the ND. Whilst a couple of clubs are interested like Brisbane I’d expect they would only consider as rookie and if he is bypassed over the ND and PSD he effectively hits our list before the rookie draft.
