LDU and Brayshaw free agents next year. Aim for them. Add two quality high end picks this year. Totally agree.

There is no 'aiming for' the likes of ldu or brayshaw as free agents for us.

1. Players of their ilk rarely move as free agents.
(No matter how much 'noise' there is of them wanting out)The vast majority simply use free agency to get a big godfather from their club.

2.of the tiny % of top shelf (ie band 1 compo) free agents who do move- none come to a club in our situation- ie small vic club not in genuine flag contention.

'Aiming for' the likes of LDU or Brayshaw is no different to 'Aiming for' catching a rainbow.

Our midfield has been utter trash for many years because of precisely this planning... all we need to do is something impossible- and then we'll be right.

He’s a game breaking 23 year old mid, who has an appetite for hard work and gives us an inside/out player with 10 years of footy in front of him.

Completely mismanaged by bevo since they lost to the dees but he is exactly the type of mid we’re trying to draft.

He’s not a Ben Cousins level drug addict, he got caught doing a line of coke.

Beyond that, he's a membership teams wet dream as he’s the most marketable player in the comp.

If we're having lunch with Tarryn Thomas- you can guarantee that smith's off-field stuff wouldn't be a factor in us seemingly not being in the frame for his services.

You would think we aren't even in discussions with him simply because he has zero interest in us. (Probably because he's already down the road with the cats etc).

Shoe was on the other foot last year with henry.
He was turning down offers for discussions with others because we had him sewn up

Look I'm not sure how many free agents have got band one, would it be ten? It's probably not enough to say one will NEVER move to a small club.

Anyway the point is you don't use first round picks to land players until you're absolutely sorted. Brayshaw would take two first rounders, it's a massive price to pay for any player.

They rack up some big disposal numbers but what is their true impact?

For one thing they don't kick many goals

Very comparable to some Essington mids if you ask me
