Or we'd have to trade out a best 22 player that's under contract.I doubt it unless we finish bottom 3 next year. Just won't have the first rounders, even with the ability to trade 2 years in advance.

So greedy! Is there any chance we can get both Koz and Warner next year? If so surely we trade the 14 into next year.
Will come off there next years picks if they don’tJust for a laugh, if we picked Champion at 14 do WC have the picks/points to match?

I hope we are not silly enough to even think about doing that. WC would let us keep him.
Totally taking the piss. Just day dreaming of making life difficult for WC.Yep they happily traded their two picks in the 60s to Carlton and now have no picks between 26 and 70.
I’m sure the previous poster was taking the piss anyway but Pick 26 is a better player on paper than Champion is. The issue we had with Liam Henry is that the player we would’ve got wouldn’t have been rated nearly as high as Liam Henry was.
There’s simply no way West Coast match until they use that Pick 26 but I reckon them trading away their picks in the 60s means they think he’ll last a lot longer than that.
Im a member of Rookie Centrals Facebook group which a ton of discussion on draftees including posts on which players are attracting interest from clubs. We're one of the teams that have interviewed Shanahan the most. (We've also done the same with Berry)Hopefully we are targeting small forwards with #14? Maybe Berry/Hannaford in that range.. like the look of Jobe Shanahan too but not sure he's a great fit with Amiss/Treacy holding down the key posts
Suspect Jackson was carrying something in the later part of the year as he wasn't having the impact he usually would - I'm on board with the midfielder idea as the ruck is likely to batter him even more over time. Imagine we go best available in the draft as seems to be the usual way, if Shanahan is the pick happy to back the recruiters.Im a member of Rookie Centrals Facebook group which a ton of discussion on draftees including posts on which players are attracting interest from clubs. It makes more sense than you might think. He's an elite kick and very mobile but he fits into our team structure too.
ts been mentioned by more than a few freo coaching staff that Luke Jackson's best position could end up being as a big midfielder. Judging by his cameos in 2023 I agree. If he played time onball he could still be the second ruck and rotate forward only when anter tall forward is on the bench.
It seems insane to spend our top draft capital on tall timber under the potential of putting Jackson on the ball. If he can go on the ball, he can rotate with small forwards as well but it will be tough to carry 4 tall forwards and still maintain forward pressure.Im a member of Rookie Centrals Facebook group which a ton of discussion on draftees including posts on which players are attracting interest from clubs. Does Joe berry have what it takes to play midfield as well?

The comp is slowly shifting to 2 key forwards max, not 4.
Who are the players in order that you would take with 14?I don’t really buy the whole idea of Jackson as a midfielder. Little stints, sure. But not to the point of drafting a KPF solely for that reason.
But I do the see the value in taking one this draft. Voss has shown himself to be capable, but a clear step down. And we are lacking depth now that we’ve delisted Taberner, Corbett and Kuek. We’ll have to take one eventually.
So do we take a KPF that we really like early in Shanahan? Or do we take a chance late and hope for the best? There’s definitely an argument for picking Shanahan and not having to think about the key forward position for the next 5–10 years.

My preference of the ones I think most likely to be available would be - Lindsay, Berry, Reid, Travaglia.
If none of them are there, I’d consider trading down closer to around 20 and think about Davis, Hynes, Oliver, Dattoli, Hannaford.
But I’d also consider risking a bid on Marshall at 14 and hoping Brisbane don’t have the points for a bid that early.
