Fixture 2025 AFL Fixture

I’d love the wheels to fall off for Carlton, but it feel like a small to zero chance. After the fixture I think we may be in that same group as them at the end of the year. Hence my dismay at them getting the boost and us getting the smack two years running.

North have some quality and I’d expect they get better, but not by enough to put the wind up the likes of us or Carlton. The Eagles will continue to be pure rubbish.
If the Blues are as cocky about their easy fixture as their supporters are, then good luck to them. Over confidence has never served them well before.

Geez, tough draw - very few easy games in our first ten matches. Again.

And of course no double-ups against any of Tigers, Weagles or Kangas. Again.

We’re gonna have to win the Flag the hard way. Again.

So why do Blues who finished above us get double ups against Weagles and Kangas?

At the end of the day the Scum can get the easiest draw but they are still shizen.

Yep, it will boost their confidence which really is a marvellous thing - when they fail miserably. Let them hang off their easy draw.

First 6 weeks we play 6 2024 finalists.

Pretty terrible start, having just 1 easier team in there would have made the world of difference mentally.
Win all six and we are flying.

Nice work. No Saturday twilights and no early Sunday games. Two of my preferred time slots.
Too many night games.

Pretty terrible start, having just 1 easier team in there would of made the world of difference mentally.

Right now as we’re sitting here pre-season, the only lock-in “easier” teams in the comp are Richmond, and to a lesser extent West Coast (Depends if you get them home or away)

North may well start making their way up the ladder this year - they’ve gotta eventually after being down for so long. They smashed us in the first half of a game last year and they ended up losing by the slimmest of margins.

Based on history, around 8 of the bottom 10 teams from 2024 will not play finals again in 2025.

So pretty obvious that the teams in the bottom 10 will be on average easier than the top 8... that we play every week for the first 6 weeks.

An early win is very important for teams.

I realise everyone has a preference as far as days and time slots go. I work conventional hours, so I can attend all games in Melbourne if I choose to. That said, the fixture doesn’t suit me for the most part.
I’m glad we’ve avoided 3:20 games on Sunday, but there is a ridiculous number of night games.

So why do Blues who finished above us get double ups against Weagles and Kangas?

Because they are frauds who need those wins to make the 8 and draw crowds. No club should be getting 2 double ups out of Richmond, West Coast and North.

Mind you Carlton are a strong chance
of losing to West Coast in Perth and North at Docklands.

They had Richmond and North twice this year and only just got in the 8. I have a feeling 2023 they were the only team to get North and Eagles twice. It’s how Curnow won the Coleman.

Talk about gifted wins

Not an easy fixture with our double ups against clearly the 2 best teams from the bottom 6 however if you want to make finals and push deep you need to rise to the challenge and I think we are more than capable with some better luck in the injuries department.
We will be much better prepared leading into next year with a longer pre season so a tough start isn't as daunting as it looks especially if we bank a few wins early!

Geelong advertiser clearly not happy with the Geelong draw - article today discussing whether we should have to play there.
