Like the sound of trying JSOS at FB for reason as indicated

Like to see both Kemp and Gov trialled as 3rd tall Fwd, Nowithstanding Moir given every chance in Med-Fwd role there.
Yep, the more we can have players adept at playing dual roles, the better we will be at matching up against the top teams.

Fit Durds is a better footballer than Young by a long way.
He can actually dispose of the ball, hit a good target & not look lost/need a week to figure what to do with the ball.

He does need to be fit to get a spot - it’s a free hit.
Seriously you cannot be serious, would love you to be demonstrate how Durdin is better than Young based on Senior level performance, Durdin has played a couple of games with us.

Yeah been elite in the 2 games he’s played in the last 3 years at Carlton or did you mean the 22 games in 7 years on Norths list?

If the club/coaches rate Durdin, they would not have delisted him
Yeah, nah mate. The Shagpies delisted Oleg and Johnson and will pick them up as rookies. Hawks did the same with Gunston. Reckon they had to clear spots for certain targets in the draft.

Would it be not right to draft say a Markov ie a player who has a rookie promise to return to their club? Thinking of Knobel as a back up big. Could play forward too. Only young.

Markov and Johnson aren't injury prone

Not sure one club's strategy is similar to another. If Durdin can't stay healthy over the preseason, he should be replaced

I'd prefer to take Markov or Knobel, but neither are key defenders

I agree & personally I don't think he's afl quality. Don't know why we persist with him 🤔
When we first rookied him, he came off the back from playing some consistently good footy from the SANFL, during his first few preseasons he displayed some good form and qualities playing against Harry and others in direct matchups…

Preseason form can be a good indicator sometimes for how some players can adapt and preform in positions, particularly when up against very good players, but it also not something you can actually define until the player stands up and proves himself capable…

The problem is his body is breaking down regularly at a lower level, there are players out there that have been identified from plenty of clubs over the past 6 years who have managed to be good selections to cover as depth or better quality players…

We’ve been seriously ordinary by draft or mature pickups in this position and timeframe…

There were several games in the middle of the year in the VFL where Young and Durdin were the 2 key backs, and Durdin looked pretty comfortably the better player.

His body failed him at the wrong time and he battled through an AFL appearance when he clearly wasn’t right and shouldn’t have played.

It’s the biggest of big “ifs”, but if he gets his body right in my opinion he’s a better footballer than Lewis Young and is worth a spot

I don’t follow players as much as quite a few in here do, so I put forward this scenario for next season.

I would like to see Charlie told to get extremely fit and he plays on the wing. Richo from the Tigers did this well.

I just feel we aren’t getting the most of his potential.

I’m only interested in replies that explain the reason why yah or nay.

Go Baggers!

Not sure about full-time wing, but I do agree that he needs to push further up the ground and or play as a roaming 3rd tall

Think we are more dangerous / unpredictable if he plays that role

Be interested to know the numbers on list movements this year, seems to be high across the board, prob averaging ~10 per club
9.45 per club before considering incoming players and re-rookies, 7.6 if you do, with 2 DFAs so far.

He’s an incredible athlete that I feel is just getting double teamed and monstered when we kick it on his head.

If we’re talking “if’s” Marchbank would have been the better option to try and get his body right. Same draft but Marchbank played 3x the amount of games.

I personally wouldn’t play Charlie off a wing but agree with the above suggested he really needs to be deployed in different roles covering the forward 50, deep forward CHF or high half forward covering further up the ground, seems like either his been injured the past season or so or they were managing his body/knee for future longevity…

If his fit, Charlie Harry and Kemp can all rotate and impact those exact types of forward roles, our forward patterns and system really need to function better…

Agreed. Zero evidence to support Durdin. Played one absolute stinker against Tom Lynch and very little else. Can't stay fit for 5 minutes. Classic list clogger.

Not wing but def should play like Nick Reiwoldt. Up and back, bust them with running and if not that, he is simply better one on one.

Instead we play him out of the square due to his subline talent and we wait until he injures himself jumping in packs.

A Vossy, an Austin, and a Hansen, walk into a bar, and Vossy says to the bartender, i'm so dumb I think telling the media we have a transition plan means we actually have one. Austin interjects; no i'm dumber, because i think our defensive talls in Kemp, Young and MCgovern are franchise players. No says Hansen, I'm the dumbest because i'm responsible for transition and just use one side of the ground because i can't understand why use the other wing when it's the exact same as the wing we are currently using!

Agree. Like to see him more up the ground. I have always wanted him to have some midfield minutes.

I’ve seen him do it in training and he is incredible. He had the engine. Would really change things up and be a weapon.

I’m a big fan of mixing up the fwd line. Last two years we have been very predictable

With McKay Curnow TDK Kemp Moir Cripps Docherty Williams Fogarty Motlop we can go tall, small and in between during games

IMO it’s something we need to do to be better

Have always said we waste him playing him out of the goalsquare. He's strong enough but his real strengths lie in his burst of speed and endurance for someone his size. I agree with some others above saying he should try to emulate Roo in the way he plays up the ground, he's our best kick inside 50 and would like to see him do that more. Play Harry out of the square and then one of Kemp or JSOS as the second "tall" target and I think we'll have a much better forward structure.
