Yeah, most teams that maintain long winning runs usually do so through efficiency. Even when they aren't playing well, or aren't dominating, they just find it easier to defend and score, by the way they set-up and move the ball. They win easy.

We very rarely win easy. Our game plan always appears very physical and when we dominate the scoreboard its usually because we are dominating everywhere. Would love us to learn how to win easy.
Or to finish teams off when we get up. So the end of the game isn't as taxing

I just don't know who our CHB is. The only key defender we've got is Weiters. Young is more a VFL player obviously and then you're down to McGovern / SOS types.
Even if they put McMahon on the list he's not really a key defender he's probably the same height as SOS but even skinnier.
If weiters goes down injured we're in for a long year. There is zero depth or support behind him.

Let’s hope they go for Phillips. He plays a lockdown KPD role.

The stats I've read are that he is of a similar height and weight as Ethan Phillips (198cm + 90kg).

Didn’t really know where to put this, but the comps gonna hate us even more in two years

“Oh yes Cripps is finally slowing down… oh wait who’s this Cody walker kid. Ffs”

Jagga Cody Walsh Cerra hopefully still TDK, and then guys like Bcampo and Lordy, well placed for life after Cripps for the first time

Absolutely this.

I am pretty certain we have the next generation midfield all mapped out, even at this early stage.

We are a decent way towards covering the next generation of defenders, on the proviso O’Farrell lives up to his potential and (perhaps) Harry Dean proves a genuine AFL player (signs are good)

Young ruck O’Keeffe looks the goods, while TDK theoretically has another seven or more years.

The forwards will likely become the focus. Lemmey starting to step up to the standard, Motlop maturing, I still have plenty of hope for Durds. Kemp is still a watch as to how effective he will be as a third tall/second key. Then there is the X-Factor of Ashton Moir. Solid forward credentials for HOK adds to a potential mix in tandem with TDK. Cody W is very capable forward in that mix, at very least in his formative years. (Lucas Koutoufides shaping as a possible key forward from 2028 draft)

Needing a couple of “pieces” up forward, but time is in our side and not too far away assuming reasonable trajectories.

Our second SSP addition will assist either back (Grainger-Barras or Phillips) or forward if Liam McMahon gets the gig as a key/third tall or some chance Will White as a small forward. All named could conceivably contribute to our next generation, on top of immediate impact.

Austin and friends have quietly gone about future proofing the list. The key will be maintaining our developing players, particularly talls, while our established “stars” continue their careers.

A good lockdown key back needs pace off the mark. Does JSOS have that first 5m burst?
Remains to be seen, but Jack is quicker than many give him credit for and his ability to read the game better than most will assist.

I am quite bullish that all of Silvagni, Haynes and McGovern could co-exist with Weitering. None are pedestrian, all are smart footballers. McGovern a bit of a key with his “willingness” to defend. The Tigers won flags not so long back with four, even five 190cm plus defenders.

If we plan on moving the ball quicker and having more behind the ball preventing the opposition from scoring it will go along way to helping.

Still reckon we need another option up forward if we lose Charles or H during the year. When that news report came through last week with big H holding his shoulder at training, it put the fear of god in me.

Last year we delisted/traded Owies (forward), Martin (forward), Cunners (forward/mid) and Kennedy, who was largely playing as a forward during the back half of the season.

We've since brought in Haynes (defender), Carroll (defender), O'Farrell (defender), Charleson (defender), as well as Jagga and the Campo's (mids). We're also moving JSOS down back, and Cincotta will return at some stage.

Lem is a tall forward option but doesn't particularly play tall. For mine, we definitely needs another forward who can take a grab aka McMahon.

And with all the defenders introduced, there is still both the Irish lads who have stated they’ll also be down back this year - only so many positions avail to learn how to ply their trade.

Brodie Kemp moves forward to offset all this change…

As far as I'm concerned, we take McMahon as our other PSSP player and leave Newy's LTI list spot until the MSD. We have a number of players who can step up into his role, Doch as the prime example.

At that point we can address anything we might need for the second half of the year. We can sign DGB to the VFL and if we need to, pick him up in the MSD.
