So if we finish bottom 4,with W/Coast,Richmond and North behind us and Richmond having Norths R1 pick how does that drop us back to between Picks 8 &12.
By my reckoning a third of the top rated players listed in this article are either Father son or tied to academy selections

Uwland is a potential #1 pick and he is tied to the suns academy.

So basically we are Furked as far as getting a decent pic if it all turns to poo and we end up near the bottom ?

OWe couldnt control that, we could affect our ladder position. Its like being told the lottery winning ticket is placed between 1 & 7 and we chose 8.

Did you watch Draper yesterday, he will be a star

Riley Onley,Dyson Sharp,Oliver Greeves along with Willem Duursma are rated in AFL's very. early Top 10 that are not and players that suit our needs.
So if we end up with a top4 pick at end of 2025 minor round, more than likely 1 of them will be in RWB even if draft is comprised

Not quite.

LDU is a free agent. So north would get compo if they finished below us.

As would West coast if Oscar Allan left.

So if the ladder finished.

15. Us
16. Eagles
17. North
18. Richmond.

The draft order would likely be.

1. Suns (Uwland academy)
2. Richmond
3. Richmond via norths pick
4. North LDU compo
5. West coast
6. West coast via Allan compo.
7. Us.

Yep and they are another year behind last years crop. Or we trade out of the draft to get a mature midfielder, key defender or another key forward who can stay on the park.

Perhaps we can trade Travaglia to get an early pick to take a midfielder? 😆

We will be constantly playing catch up...

We would never do it, but I would love us to have pick 1 in the draft and simply call out the names as we have them ranked, even if it meant that we ended up at pick 5 because of FS and academy links - just to highlight the ridiculous distortion of the draft. Pick 1 gets a $10k bonus or something so clubs never select someone at pick 1 that is tied to a club, even if they rate the kid as the top pick in the draft. They always pick the highest ranked AVAILABLE pick so their kid gets the bonus money and prestige, which further adds to the ridiculous discounts in draft costs to certain teams!!!

Need to finish below west coast and north due to the threat of priority picks for FA

We need to throw a big offer at Ben King. At least that way we should always have at least one of them in the park. 🤣🤣🤣
Throw the cheque book at juh tdk sdk and bk.
Stop ****ing around.

Or, basically until the father-son rule and the academies are abolished.
Academies are just total BS , I read an article where ( Don't quote me ) GCS have around 1500 kids in their academies in central and Nth Queensland from ages 13-19 . HTF are you suppose to compete with that .
I agree FS needs to be looked at but christ i will be dirty waiting all these years for the young Roo's and then we miss out on them if that happens

Yes it will. The day Reiwoldt and Lennys sons become eligible.
speaking of Lenny's son, was spewing we didn't draft Lindsay (no knock on the T's of course). He looks like a left-footed Lenny, ferocious and composed in the clinches and very classy on the outside. dees have a beauty on their hands there.
