I reckon we'd be keen to get Carroll, but I think he would prefer the Eagles due to the fact that there would be spots ready for the taking. With us, he would have to probably show he can impress from the wing and/or get in front of JOM/Banfield

It would make a lot more career sense for Carroll if he has the choice to choose West Coast.

Knobel seems to be the board's new zero game Messiah. Just like all teams have whipping boys, supporter bases have to have high ceiling players who are only held back due to opportunity.
Players who have graced this spot recently have been Ethan Stanley, Luke Valente & Tom North.
While he might get out of it, being 4th in line is going to take a bit of effort to get a game. I would be moving clubs if I was him and the opportunity came up. He's only played 7 WAFL games in 2 years so really needs some more exposure.

Pretty sure only one Irishman can be a Category B rookie so upgrading Draper isn’t helping get another Irishman on the list. Clubs have had two on the rookie list before but need to sacrifice a Category A rookie lost spot to do it. Don’t think we have the list space to do it personally.
We’re either upgrading Worner or taking a DFA with that fourth senior list spot.

We’re not using two picks at the draft.
We had choices but outside of our draft selections in roughly a months time we’ve already made them. We’re using three picks at the draft and re-recruiting Knobel. We’ll find out what the club is doing with their final list spot when the club feels like it - if it’s Narkle we’ll most likely be waiting until post-draft like Sharp did.
Don’t know what the delay is announcing that Kelm has joined us but my understanding is that this can be done well after the first list lodgement anyway - there’s no rush.

Yeah we get a year to look at him, as long as we get one over this year then it works out IMO
The point is upgrading Draper doesn’t create a spot except for a Category B and not an Irishman unless we do something else with Kelm.
We’ll have to look at the NGA or guys from other sports to fill Draper’s spot. Kind of hope Whan and/or Hart don’t drop off that much tbh so hopefully another NGA kid comes along that we don’t know about yet.
My point was we get a year to look at him if he comes over now and can judge next year on its merits
I'm hopeful we do it but there have been a couple times recently where its looked like he is coming and it doesn't happen

With reports we're not getting Narkle or Carroll anymore I actually think there's a slight chance we list both. We'd give up a Category A rookie list spot to do it but the club has certainly done stranger things.
