Looking at the Top 50 Draft projections it looks like it will be Midfield dominated with mainly Key Position Forwards & Defenders not really many running Half Backs and Small Forwards. I'm sure there will be quite a few that will be Mid/Fwd but it could be pretty lean down back again next year for quality rookies. Maybe starting with 5 Premo Defenders and only 3-4 Midfielders with a few cheap Forwards available it could be the way to go.

The top 3 is not the quality of the previous few years. Maybe ashcroft might be worth it.
It might be an idea to revert to the old no high priced rookies rule.
Bit of a watch for pre season.
The depth of the draft should give us decent cheap options

Not sure where you're getting your info from mate but there are some guns in this draft. Why do you think all the clubs are trying to get the top picks.

Consensus on draft board seems to be the top end is not equal to the last few years, but the draft is deeper than usual.

Possible that pick 10 ends up being a better player than pick 1 this year.

Lucky the Tigers have both picks 1 & 10 then ;)

I think Jagga, Ashcroft, Draper will be the best picks in that order of preference. Obviously where they end up will impact too but all are ready to go. Lalor and FOS I'm less confident on. Will be expensive and probably play mainly forward. Not as ready. Langford, Reid and Smillie will depend on where they end up and role. I could see Lindsay playing 22 games as an outside mid and cheaper given he will go in the teens. They're the ones that stick out to me.

Jagga Smith is a ball magnet and whichever club he goes to he will score well in Supercoach. Ashcroft is the same but might not get a game early for the Lions. Murphy Reid is another high possession midfielder and Travaglia will 100% be the best Supercoach defender similar to McKercher.

The draft gurus I've spoken to have said it has 9 picks 6s then about 50 late first rounders.
It's deep but there is no sheezal daicos, jhf reed types. The top end is not great hence North and wc trying to trade down.

Jagga will be good eventually but he's not big enough for round 1.

I do agree about there being No standout Pick 1 this year and the first 7-8 players you could almost throw a blanket over them. I thought North wanted to trade down because they need a couple of Key position players and with pick 2 it's wasted when you have to pick the best player available which will be a Midfielder and you have plenty of them.

It looks like it will be very similar to the 2019 draft where there is No Champion but plenty of A-B graders in the Top 20.

Rowell or Anderson would be pick 1 in this draft. I would not be expecting rowell's rookie year from anyone this year.
We will have heaps of 123k quality I doubt it's worth paying 200k +
If North get the same quality at 9ish why not trade 2 and get more assets.

Hayden Young or Caleb Serong would have been handy for Adelaide

I think realistically the only team that North will be able trade pick 2 with is the Tigers.
Blues have pick 3:crossmark:
Crows have pick 4 :crossmark:
Dees 5&9:crossmark:
Saints 7&8:crossmark:

If the Tigers were to do a pick swap they hold all the cards and I doubt they will trade out 6. So probably the best you could do would be maybe 18 & 20 for pick 2.

Yeah I'd just keep it then.
We could grab fos for a wing.
Kerch and fos on the wings would be posh.
I'm not super fazed about the draft we have most of our kids already the experience was what we needed.
Happy to just see how we go as is.
Our list guys seemed to think we could land a top 6 pick and a f1 for 2 a few weeks ago. That would be interesting
