The experiment has to be shelved. He's a backman.
He plays so much better when he's facing our goals and can run forward to and from a contest. When he's got his back to our goals, he's lost.
Bonkers to drop Gibcus
He wasn't dropped, he was managed. Just like Cotch last weekend. It'll most probably happen again at some stage when he needs it.

I was all for him up forward bc I honestly felt we would be a better side long term and in a better position list wise with him working out as a fwd. But after the last 2 weeks **** it, shelve it, leave him down back, our backline with him, Grimes and Vlastuin is pure sex. The side looks a lot better balanced and Lynch has gone into God mode up fwd

Don't care where we play him - but I want us to maintain the ability to chuck him in the ruck if we need a lift. I agree he definitely looks better as a KPD than a KPF right now, but the kid is still only 22. Big guys take time. Some KPFs don't get it until they are 23-24, and Balta has only played 50 games and is coming off a knee less than a year ago.

It's going to be fun......................................

Dimma in his pressure sounded he like he knows he’s a better defender than forward and he’d settle down there. Him and Gibcus as the 2 key pillars down there going forward is bloody exciting. More flags can be built on the back of those 2
Spot on. I'd take Balta+Gibcus over May+Lever. That's incredible given how raw they both are.

Add Dylan Grimes, Nick Vlaustin, Daniel Rioli and Nathan Broad (3 A-graders and a B-grader) and I'd say we've easily got the best back 6 of any team. To have players like Baker and Tarrant as the 7th defender is a luxury.

A knee? I must have missed it.

Personally I think the coaching staff should be seriously held accountable for costing a couple of wins to start this season.

The experiment to put Balta forward was arrogant and foolish.

It created an absolute cluster **** for Lynch and Riewoldt to work with and left our backline immobile and vulnerable.

It’s not a coincidence that the two best games lynch has played this year was when Balta was moved back. And it’s not a conincidence that the strongest our backline has looked is when Tarrant was left out and Balta was put back.

Hopefully Dimma and co will own up to a mistake that could potentially have cost this club a top 4 spot.

We have our first round pick and NM's second, which conservatively is two of the top 25 picks with bids included. I think there'll be 5-6 KPFs taken within those picks, some really strong talent coming through.

I think maintain flexibility and let him play where he needs to, but the Balta and Gibcus duo is so intoxicatingly exciting when you think about their aerial prowess, strength and ability at ground level. Noah's ability through the middle can be exploited too if we get everyone settled and can rotate the guys who play above their weight.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned about our current lack of depth for tall marking forwards. It's got free agency written all over it when our salary cap has a bit more legroom in the next couple of years. Someone like McStay would come for free which would allow us to invest in an 18 year old KPF in the 2022 draft without the urgency of hurrying him through the system. Alex Sexton would be pretty cheap trade-wise too I'd imagine - Gold Coast tend to give those sort of players away.

Any news on his “hamstring” “injury”? Is it real or were we too tall down back and needed some run?

Heard he will miss a couple of weeks.

Commentators laughing that we had taken him off and used the sub rule with no integrity (seems to just be us that people make a deal about it) then he got his hammy iced and they said "maybe he is injured"
