"He's a required player, and we hope he gets to his 300th game and helps us to develop the younger rucks underneath him" - Viney.
Yeah, heard Viney this morning and he sounded pretty definitive. It's now a matter of what we offer, and if anyone else is offering substantially more. Goldy did say that he preferred to be a one club player, so I would think he is very likely to stay. Unless someone offers him a 2-3 year deal which at his age is unlikely.

Fantastic.

Hopefully it’s announced tonight.

At 34 Todd could easily have multiple years left.

The more you hear of what was going on, the Noble appointment seems like one big giant cluster*.

No wonder the side was dysfunctional with him pissing off what seems like quite a few players.

Sounds like his man management skills were pretty ordinary.

This times 100.

There is innuendo around this but haven't seen it definitely stated as yet.

I still understand but disagree with his Goldstein approach. On the surface giving 2 young ruckmen the floor has merit.

However first you need them both justifying that faith and you shouldn't have a clearly better option in their way you're just pushing to a side for no real reason.

Was also interesting Noble lacked the nuts to push Ziebell out of his role and/or the side and instead looked to contrive ways to fit him in.

Should have been told to relinquish the captaincy last year.

Yep 34 is basically like 29-30 for a Ruckman and given his form 2 or 3 years is fine with me,
Not that I’m referring to goldy in this question but wouldn’t it usually be the opposite for a ruckman? ie: they age quicker as a footballer because of the taxing role on their bodies?

Just tell him to practice his marking the whole preseason. he is great at everything else. if he improved it he could play for another 4 years, just park him in the forward line.

Just hope he doesnt try and fleece us

1. It's very BF to automatically assume the worst.

2. I reckon most blokes of his age just want to keep playing footy for as long as they can, and money is less important.

I'd say it's because they take a bit longer to get going. Sandilands is the prime example, an absolute behemoth but he went to 36.

Ruckmen seem to get wilier and tougher with age.

Tom Hickey used to be on lists primarily to be passed around like a doobie on end of season gang bangs. Search your feelings, you know this to be true.

Now at the age of 45 penny has finally dropped and he's smashing into blokes like he's Glenn Archer.

Eventually sensation reaches the ends of the fingertips of these behemoths and once they reach that point they're tough to stop.
