Luke Parker
Luke Parker has plenty of football ahead and has already compiled a resume packed with impressive achievements. Since landing at the Sydney Swans via the 2010 AFL Draft, he has won a 2012 premiership medal, earned All Australian selection and won two Bob Skilton medals. In 2015, he was added to the club’s leadership group at the age of just 22, and has led the team as a co-captain alongside Josh Kennedy and Dane Rampe since 2019. While Parker is among the league’s elite midfielders, his strong marking and expert game awareness make him a genuine threat when rotating through the forward line.

Luke Parker
DOB: 25 October 1992
DEBUT: 2011
DRAFT: #40, 2010 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Langwarrin (Vic)/Dandenong U18

He gave up picks that essentially got McDonald and another first rounder for a single compo pick for Daniher

He gave up Pick 11 for Devon Smith (who?) with some pick shenanigans
He gave up 25 and 30 for Stringer (one of the most overrated players in the AFL who only seems to play well against us)
He gave up 2 first rounders for Dylan Shiel

haha. What.

Daniher was contracted its known Essendon off-field people have influence, they would have done anything to persuade and retain him. They lost a draft pick? Wow. Awful.

You don't know who Devon Smith is?
I spose FYI he won a best and fairest. A draft pick wow.
Stringer is a great player. Two draft picks? FFS who gives a shit. That is truly funny.
Dodoro didn't want to do the Shiel trade but was overruled by board/coaches. One of those draft picks was Caldwell.. who plays for Essendon.

Dodoro has made mistakes as would anyone doing the job two decades.
Before we lucked out getting Dalrymple, Beatson completely wiped out on drafts
If Essendon hadn't been such a shambles at development and continuity the players performance would look better too

My absolute durr-brain interpreted that to mean the Swans' defence was that they felt entitled to tackle Walsh dangerously because he was having a big game.

I was thinking good luck holding that up in court!
You are one step ahead of the rest of us.

Not sure it was a great move by the Swans counsel to tell the Tribunal it had overstepped the mark. Automatic 50.

Have said it ad nauseam now.

What's the point in suspending players for accidents.

If the AFL thinks that rubbing blokes out for "dangerous tackles" is going to stop the "dangerous tackles" then they're delusional. All it will do is cost players games and they'll come right back in and do the same things.

They were arguing that the tackle couldn't have been dangerous since Walsh had a big quarter after the supposed dangerous tackle.

Still idiotic reasoning, The tribunal wants to prevent injuries, so they penalize the action, not the outcome.

Even if that were true, what is suspending the player going to do?

They're making unreasonable demands of players in expecting them to do things differently in split-second situations.

So it won't actually prevent any injuries, all it does is force players to miss weeks.

We were dreaming challenging that. 2 motions you are gone it’s fairly simple nowadays, you pin the arms you have to drop and ensure no head contact.
Should have called out it wasn’t deemed serious enough to warrant a free kick, can’t believe that wasn’t raised in Parker’s defence

Would not have mattered there’s a second motion. You have a second motion the onus is on the tackler to ensure NO head contact occurs

Hahaha you cant make this shit up

Walsh's arms were free, he didnt want to give HTB away. If its on the tackler to make split second decisions to not sling then its also on the person being tackled to make the split second decision to use their arms (if they are free) to soften the drop and just give HTB.

It's all just optics, for use later in future lawsuits
