What North is offering is frankly disgraceful, any neutral knows he is worth a lot more. Rawlings isn't fooling anyone saying they are "happy to move on", their club is in desperate need of experience and he's their big recruit of the summer that they've been chasing all year. The length of contract + money they have offered him proves that they think he can be an important player for them in years to come.

Can you imagine what the supporter base would do to the club if they walked away after giving them hope?

We value him at more than pick 62. That shows we value him more than a pick we won’t use.

We are letting him go gracefully and take up a 3 year deal when he has a year to go on his current contract.

I think 44 would be extremely good value as Brisbane have 32, 34, 42, 43 thats 3 picks move up for the Ashcroft bid alone. Kako bid will swallow up the proposed 28 from Melbourne and Essendons current 31. Another pick up the order now to 40. Then the Lombard bid we don't know the exact position but i suspect that it will move the pick up to 39. #39 i think can be shipped off live for Maybe an F2 given how strong this draft is? I think you can also draft a mature age guy as well. Think you get more value by letting the pick get traded live than just taking an F3.

EDIT just seen that Essendon might get 28, 40 and F1 for pick 9 which could mean that North's 44 goes up to 38 but i suspect it will be 39 depending on where Kako gets drafted etc

Yep which is why I'd reluctantly accept it. 3 picks before a Cochran bid not that I rate Cochran much. On basic terms we'd have 19, 21, 44, then Cohran. We'd have to delist one more (probably Jacob Konstanty I wouldn't but think that's what they do)
