Meh, if you are 8 wickets down with stuff all batting to come and you still have a referral, I'd say it would be illogical not to refer it.

No use leaving them in the bank.

Why does Siddle always get brought back into the attack in every single match as soon as #10 and #11 come in?

Is Punter feeling sorry for him about how few top order wickets he is taking?

i'm at the point of saying you can't have Johnson and Siddle in the same team....no pressure. Sit and wait for the inevitable "4 ball".

Hilfenhaus back for Siddle next Test. bollinger's looked pretty good. Online and hostile.

Can't argue with that AH. This referal system is terrible the way it stands right now. The ICC should just do away with it. Unless there is an absolute shocker of a decision, whereby the 3rd umpire can over-rule a decision, they should just scrap this system.

Is there any particular reason that this test isn't being broadcast at all today on 9 in Adelaide, after being live all day yesterday? It better not be that 'to attract a bigger local crowd' garbage :mad:

Not you directly but generally it's amazing how the tune always changes. In England everyone was screaming for referrals after all the dud decisions we got. Now because it's not used wisely occasionally people want it scrapped. If was it and we got a raw deal the same people would scream again for it.

Like that do in horse racing for frivolous protests fine players heavily for frivolous referrals and take one of them next innings. No need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Good work Bollinger you cheat. How could he possibly have thought he caught that. The reason Ricky brang on Siddle was because Johnson was bowling crap and leaking to many runs plus you usually bring on your faster bowlers to clean up the tail.

Yeah, I agree.

Siddle has not performed well enough at this level to justifiably hold his place. Too inconsistent in line and length and not sufficiently threatening. He's a good workhorse, but doesn't inspire confidence that he could rip out a succession of top order batsmen very often.

I'd have a number of bowlers (including Bollinger) in front of him.

It has also been pretty easy to see how badly Aus is missing the accuracy, pressure and control of Hilfenhaus in this innings.

My recollection is that it was Basit Ali (off Warne's bowling) in a Test in the 1990s.

I think it was at the SCG off the top of my head.

Could well be wrong on all counts, though!

Come on guys bag Bollinger he can't get number 11 out either.siddle to inconsistent with his line are you kidding even the commentators on nine said he was unlucky yesterday. What's johnsons excuse his mum again?his line and length hasn't been there at all.

I could have sworn it was the Basit Ali one too, but I just found it on youtube (Warne compilation) and it's Ritchie commentating.

The Gatting dismissal off Hughes is definitely up there among the contenders in that case.

1993 2nd innings First Test at Old Trafford. Same Test as Warne's ball of the century. Believe it or not it was Gatting again, this time bowled by Merv.
