Im not kidding you now, someone in the crowd is going to get killed one day.

And you know what will happen? every ground around the world will have fencing around the ground to protect the fans. You heard it first.
How would that even work? It's not possible without completely obscuring the crowd's vision of not just the cricket, but any event at the ground.

It's an inherent risk of going to the cricket and there is no solution.

What is it with cricketers and golf? I don't hate golf, but all they ever seem to do or talk about outside of cricket is playing golf.

Yikes. I know times are tough but just saw this post? Im not sure if the prices are right in order to attract bigger crowds.

Who is forking out that kind of dosh for an unmeaningful series?

Yes, they need to drop the prices a bit. Was thinking about popping in to the G on Friday but the prices put me off

Is reserved seating normal at SCG? At the MCG reserved seating is always exxy but then most of the place is GA and thats like $20ish

This clip shows about the different seating options. And watching this clip, I agree with pretty much everything that guy said.

They were never going to sell out the game even at discounted prices. Whats a fair price? $30 max for me. Not in Sydney at the moment but heard its a hot day as well- which wouldnt have helped ticket sales.

Head, M Marsh, Cummins, Maxwell, Starc - 5 players missing from Australia's first choice side.

You need to remember alot are doing it tough at the moment, cost of living crisis, high interest rates and job losses everywhere... the prices are a joke.

Tickets were a lot cheaper back in the 80s and 90s for ODIs back when Australia and other teams played their full strength ODI line ups.

Not to mention all the ODIs were on FTA back then and not hidden behind a pay tv paywall, it's no wonder the crowds have dropped off.
They used to feel like a real event in your city in the 90's 'n early 2000's, it doesn't even feel like they have advertising traction any more. Everyone slags FTA these days but you were more aware of ODI's etc with all the coverage & ads.. ridiculous pricing & less visibility equals who cares I'll take the kids to BBL.

Given how crazy expensive everything is there (ignoring the ticket costs) you'd be mad to want to spend the whole day at the cricket with a fam. I'm a lucky person, I'm in a well paying job without any intention of having kids with my partner. I can spend my day there, blow $150 on food and beers for me and it's no skin off my back.

But a couple kids, a few meals through the day each plus cost just to get there and get in the door? **** that. At least with the BBL you can maybe get away with just a couple boxes of chips.

The real crime is that Sean Abbott has an international half century.
He’s made a couple of Shield 100s and churns out regular runs here and in county cricket. He also hit a 30 ball 100 over in the England T20 league last year. The guy has always been able to bat.

It's the same with the domestic state one day comp, they used to get good crowds to games and they were shown on Ch9 on weekends.

Now those games are played on weekdays in front of almost no one and hidden away on pay tv, it seems like CA only care about the BBL.
State cricket has become the most invisible of all.

There's an argument to be made that it simply was always going to become less relevant as the world got smaller and the internet era began.

Barring t20 domestic leagues, County Cricket's probably the most visible FC test format across the globe? I couldn't even tell you what India's FC Test league is.
