JFM didn't like getting hit in the gut, and that's what got him out.

That's the shot that places a ceiling on him outside of T20, and probably even there. You can't back away from a bloke angling it in like that; doing so is ****ing dangerous. Step inside the line and play a traditional pull or open the front leg and go over midwicket for the front foot pull; never, ever back away like that to someone bowling sharp angling in.

It goes beyond stupid cricket and into reckless stuff.

He should of been caught third ball....

you just can't hit every ball for 4 or 6 you have to learn structure your innings

the coaching is terrible atm for this side in regards to batting

coaching by bowling maching...with it set for a booming cover drive all the time

In the T20 game, there's a place for a bloke who goes from ball 1. More method would be required, but he's 22; he's got a bloody long time to learn.

No, for me the fact that Rauf hit him in the gut prompted him to premeditate backing away eliminates him as any option, T20 or otherwise. He's going to get badged or worse because of it; because he bats not to get hit.

For all the handspeed and the eyes, the sheer fluency of his shots, that's not a weakness you can have in national colours. It's arguably a weakness you can't really have in IPL colours or franchise cricket colours; but then, there have been an awful lot of journeymen of ordinary standard play BBL, Pakistan and Carribean super league that he might fit in, who knows?

Just, he's going to get got by a quick at some point. I'd bowl nothing but throat at him from here, see how long it'd take before he started to back away.
