Australia were never that bad at ODI cricket in the 80s, they were always competitive.

They dropped off in test cricket during the mid 80s when NZ beat them in a test series and England flogged them in the Ashes.

The West Indies flogged them in test series back in the 80s but they flogged everyone back then, they were brutal and relentless.
