I have to admit at first I thought he played across the lone at it, but replays seem to suggest he at least started playing straighter than that and then followed the swing. But, yes, it wasn't really a driving ball for first ball - particularly with the innings as it stood.
Cummins or Starc should come up the order.

Making for compulsive viewing
Interesting that it has come after a day of heavy rain when it needed to be under full covers for 24 hours and has had minimal heat/sun during these first three days

Marsh has had a couple of close calls already, but maybe that's what's needed to get an eye in and survive for a while until the shine reduces.

He was so great for so long just dropping off from that makes him look worst than he is
Smith doesn't even look confident in himself, we really need one of those Smith innings where he makes it look piss easy while everyone struggles but haven't seen that from him in a long time.

Mind you, Head didn't help matters by not treating it with respect. That ball, particularly first up and with the side in trouble, warranted a solid, bat close to pad, defensive shot. Not what Head offered up.
