Not at all, remember we're taking in the rating of their peers across their entire careers.

So Franklin would be ahead of Tom Hawkins on all those 3 counts as well.

That cake again, no wonder you're plump.

Oh and on your basis that Bartel not rated internally at the best club in the comp.

Franklin. A different jumper next year and a different opinion from Podgy.:)

GEELONG coach Chris Scott praised the effort of veteran midfielder Jimmy Bartel after his team motored home to beat Gold Coast at Simonds Stadium on Saturday night.
Bartel was one of the driving forces as the Cats overcame a 12-point deficit in the third quarter by kicking 11 of the last 12 goals of the game.
"He was good, especially early in that last quarter," Scott said after the 52-point victory.

"I said to him post-game, 'I had hoped that you would stand up when the game was really on.'
"But I should know by now that he will just do it."

Bartel roamed all over the ground all night as he put together a best-on-ground performance that featured 30 possessions and three goals.
"He's a really flexible Geelong player. We love him."

Bartel>>>>>>>>>>>Hodge over their careers and you know it.

Like I've said previously, if Bartel and Hodge traded jumpers, you'd be singing a different tune.

Oh and those 3 premiership medals just keep shining, along with the Norm and Brownlow.:thumbsu:

The only things Hodge beats Bartel in is Clangers and getting subbed off cos you are unfit.

We should be comparing Hodge to Maxwell.

That's subjective rhetoric from Chris Scott, and it doesn't reflect his OBJECTIVE rating of Bartel.

Also, it's his rating of Bartel in ONE game, against the Gold Coast. It doesn't constitute a career at all, and I don't know why you thought it would.

He's had many opportunities to rate him even this year and so far it's been 1 vote against Port Adelaide and 1 vote against Richmond.

I like how the current players, in the current climate rate Hawkins ahead of Franklin. :)

6 MVP'S coming up for the Ablett's as well. It must make you mad that your club managed to let slip the 2 greatest players in the history of the game.

Except they don't, and it's not even close . . . not sure why you would even make such a claim.

We seem to have done quite well without them. Both of us.

The only things Hodge beats Bartel in is Clangers

Bartel has cleaned up his clangers this year on the back of playing a lot of uncontested football, but he's always been a clanger king when in the midfield, which is probably why they got him the hell out of there in the first place.

Except they don't, and it's not even close . . . not sure why you would even make such a claim.
I'd make such a claim because it's a fact.

Ablett won the award from Watson and Cotchin with Hawkins in 8th place, and FRANKLIN not rating a mention from his peers.

Bad luck mate.:thumbsu:

That's just not the extent of the voting done by CURRENT players, which is what you claimed.

He also has 2 more goals than Lance this season despite playing 1 less match, and not yet having confronted the league 2 minnows in Melbourne and GWS.'

Onya Lance.:thumbsu:

Yes it is, try again.

Unfortunately it just isn't, neither by the sense of the full extent of AFL players in the current season or by the consideration of the thousands of players who have voted on their careers over the last 8 seasons or so . . .

All that is left to Hawkins is one season of players in a year where Franklin missed almost a third of the season.

He should be further ahead given he's a stay at home forward and Franklin runs up into the midfield a lot more.

If he's relying on filling his boots against minnows he's definitely not in the race, not even against an underwhelming Franklin. Will need to lift soon.

Sorry mate, a fact's a fact whichever way you like to twist it.

Poor Lance. Overrated and off to GWS to become a millionaire. Why wouldn't he go, he's days are almost numbered.

We'll see how he goes in a poor side, when his peers continue to forget about him.

He's already ahead despite not playing against the minnows, which proves there's no reliance as your theory indicates.

Nice.:thumbsu:

Don't you mean Franklin runs around in circles spitting the dummy and playing for frees.

James Bartel plays a good game; one thread, 50 stalkers and countless homoerotic fan fiction stories later, James probably wishes he'd got his usual 20 and 1.

Is that you Podgey?

Another interesting stat is that the only other player I can find who has gone 30 + 3 this year was Jobe Watson against Melbourne with 38 disposals and 3 goals. So on bare statistics, Bartel has had a top 5 game this year for midfielders (Ablett has had 3 of them and Ryan Griffen might have something to say about those statistics but still). Dangerfield got close with 28 disposals and 4 goals, but no one else I can think of has.

Zorko just missed out against the dees too. Had 29 + 3.4

If there is one constant on the bay.

It is Hodgepodge Pwning Handbaggers.

It never ends.

Only in your delirious mind.
