Any chance that he ends up in defense longterm?
Yes. Chuck a big offer to B King to play FF, Larkey to CHF and throw Chom to CHB.

He has great hands, he’s athletic, he flys hard for the footy every single time, he’s fearless and he can’t kick goals - Tailor made for CHB.

Would win numerous AA’s.

800k is a lot of money but at least Brown would give 100% not like some other person who are getting paid for doing sweet f#ck all
Personally I would have preferred to keep Brown (particularly at the rate he ended up settling for) and think that was probably achievable. Looks like the COVID hub had a significant impact there.

I think you have to back them not buckling on price though, ultimately keeping that money free might mean bringing in Logue and more established talent end of this year as well as retaining some of our most talented core.

Had we kept Brown we may have won two or three more games, not really worth anything in the bigger picture I do mean.

I'm just so happy for Charlie and the way he keeps getting games. I wished we had done the same with Maj under Scott's leadership.

I’m sure he’s working on his kicking, I’d certainly hope so, not with any bozo, but someone that actually knows about the caper.
I know he hasn’t, but if he’d kicked 8 goals 4, instead of 4 goals 8, we’d be over the moon.
He’ll get there and hopefully by season’s end his strike rate will have improved.
In the meantime, I don’t think he’s that far away from having a big day out and kicking a bag of 5 goals 8. 😬

Sure. At the right price I'd be happy to have kept him but am under few illusions it would fundamentally have changed the work we need to do - need to pay players either way though.

Perhaps I dreamt it but I thought I heard that Jonathan Brown had been doing some work at the club. Oh well, not often I'm right but probably wrong here again.

Maybe four weeks ago, GR had a clip where Brown said he was doing some work, going through video reviews with the forwards I think. Sadly, I can't say that I've seen any improvement at all.

sorry for how thick the satire was.

Just making sure we recognise the W's for Brady as well.
I'm not sure Brady was there when we recruited Comben? And he hasn't managed to get him to sign up again?

In regards to his kicking, I think it is just nerves. In his first couple of games the ball was barely hitting his foot and subsequently travelling around 30m in all sorts of directions. As he has become more comfortable in the game, he is kicking the ball 50m and they are only just missing. I think it will come, without making a big deal of it.

I tend to agree. He likely won't ever be Larkey level accurate (which is not a reasonable expectation given Larkey is effectively a freak accuracy wise) but I do think nerves and probably exhaustion given how few games he's played at any level since drafting would have an impact. When not run ragged and taking shots he seems to hit fairly flush and can travel 50+ relatively straight kicking style. Whether he needs a simplified process or it will come naturally as he gets games we can wait and see on at this point.

Pretty sure he technically started at the club after Comben was drafted. Either way it's more of a Luff/Finnigan coup.
He started less than a week after that draft. People said our pick trading was his style at the time and it seems they've been right.

No disputing the kid has balls though.

(I'll see myself out)
