If he’s good to go, you play him at the backend of the year. There’s still 17 weeks remaining. **** that’s depressing.Rest of the year off - sign a 2 year extension
Pray he’s ready day 1 of preseason
Or, if you look at the other side of the coin, we work half as hard as the oppositions to score. We score from roughly one in every four entries.
We concede roughly one in every two.
Work twice as hard as the oppositions to score.
Can we at least have a poll regarding calling him “Chom”. I said it then and will say it again he won’t make it if we persist with that millstone.
Other options as follows;
Chalky Charlie
Crazy Comben
And heck anything else you can come up with.
The universe does things that well cannot always be explained.
I think we should call him “Harvey” from now on. It works on the following levels:-
Combine Harvester
Boomer has a broken leg too.
Harvey play 428 games, so…
Realizes he gets a year off playing in our pissweak side."Charlie is in good spirits, broken fibula, looking at 8-10 weeks on the sidelines"
He's already got Cable and his tractor tales coveredI think we should call him “Harvey” from now on. It works on the following levels:-

If we get him back any time next year, I will be a very happy shinboner"Charlie is in good spirits, broken fibula, looking at 8-10 weeks on the sidelines"
This sounds silly, but after reading this I hope he can learn to be gentler on his body. Just being mindful of how he’ll land back on his feet when he’s got 2 feet off the ground. I’d take an 90 percent Comben over no Comben at all. He is such a great lad and important to our team. I’d love someone to try and teach him that he doesn’t need to play like a bull in a China shop unless it’s the last 2 of weeks of SeptemberNot a kangas supporter but I love this kid went to school with one of mine I was a parent helper on their school camp but unfortunately Charlie has always been accident prone in every sport he’s played whether basketball or footy broken bones from when he was a kid just one of those that always manages to get hurt . Been great watching his development this year so I’m as disappointed as you guys this morning.
No wayIf he’s good to go, you play him at the backend of the year. There’s still 17 weeks remaining. * that’s depressing.
If his recovery goes as planned, he can get a solid 3/4 week training block and play the last 3/4 games.
Have you seen Collingwood‘s injury list? Have you watched the desperation they play with?Personally I think the more understanding and faith players have in their role and the structure of the team -> the less desperate efforts made -> the less injuries
Big reason why bottom sides cop lots of injuries imo
Said pretty much the same online somewhere, no other of our forwards would even have tried to get to that contest, he tried to make yet another deplorable inside 50 kick look good. I’ve seen enough in his start to this season to suggest he’s going to make it. Provided there’s no complications with the location of the fracture (anything around the ankle can be problematic), he’ll be fine.Nobody has the body to crush their own foot like that.
Charlie is a victim of his own intent this time... got to a contest others wouldn't have, was in a compromised landing position because of it.
Deserves the contract time needed to recover and have another shot at it.
As much as the club wants to, we can’t rely on Charlie to get over his injury issues. We need at least 1 more young key forward in this draft. Either at the top end or a project type.
Yes, I'm not swapping Sheezel for Cadman fyi. McDonald for Phillips possibly and probably and would do it in a heartbeat.
JVR was the obvious choice if we wanted a KPF. McDonald isn't even that good imo. He got flogged by DGB in the game where they played on each other.Van Rooyen would've been better for us given the way he clunks them. Makes it especially weird since we knew we were taking Phillips early, JVR was available at our second.
