Yeah no offence Chad but in betting terms the call was probably akin to hitting a 1.50 bet.

The call (and subsequent outcome) as to whether he makes it is a more contentious one. Whether SANFL form holds up in the fast paced, more skillful AFL is an unknown. He couldn’t be any worse than McKay was last season though.

Such an intelligent signing, but gee in hindsight it's also such a no-brainer type of move.

"Oh, the premiership winning, best full-back in the SANFL is a 25 year old, 194cm gorilla? And he would cost us zero draft/trade capital to sign?"

Well, he was there for all other 17 clubs to have a crack, would have been relatively easy for both SA clubs right under their nose, or * who decided to make our previous full back the highest paid player in the comp in season 2024. Well done North!

Adelaide have a lot of good key backs (despite Doedee leaving) going after Pink would've made no sense. Port would've potentially been a better fit but they had their eyes on the Geelong guy and still have a pretty good compliment.

No one needs a key back right now more than us. Other clubs can probably afford to be patient by going to the draft whereas we needed someone for right now and outside of the AFL we evidently deemed Pink to be that guy.
