Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Really India should win this test - Would be a huge upset if it is even a draw.

Thinking a chase of 500+ is on the cards with a day and a bit to get it.

Can we try to play for the draw like india did but failed?

I get the feeling that whatever they set the Aussies Ponting will try and chase it.

Why play for a draw?

We have a decent batting line up if they can all get away who knows?
Need 2 blokes to get 100's in the 2nd innings.

We'll have to get their top order out fairly early.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Lady Luck's boyfriend is out. Good knock!

Dravid is going out with Symonds?

MCG 1st Innings

7.1 Johnson to Dravid, no run, dropped, the batsman pushing forward away from his body and a thick edge flies low and hard to Jaques at fourth slip who can't hang on with his right hand

11.3 Johnson to Dravid, 1 no ball, got him... ah, no he's not, it's a no-ball, a beautiful delivery across the right hander, the edge flying straight to Hayden at first slip

19.2 Clark to Dravid, no run, another huge shout, low and trapping him right on middle
A perceived inside edge saved him, there, but the usually placid - in fact, horizontal - Clark is unamused...

...Clark's still fuming. Replays showed no inside edge. There was little wrong with that

MCG 2nd Innings

27.1 Johnson to Dravid, no run, nipped back in from outside off, Gilchrist thinks about stumping him, his foot was in the air for a long time, but he hasn't got the ball cleanly in his glove

SCG 1st Innings

11.5 Johnson to Dravid, 1 no ball, caught at second slip, Dravid drives away from his body and gets a thick outside edge to Ponting who takes the catch, the Australians begin to celebrate a big wicket but then they spot Bucknor's call of no-ball, Johnson had over-stepped by a long way

24.4 Clark to Dravid, no run, did Gilchrist drop that? Dravid jumped back and tried to glance a slow short ball down leg side, he might have got a bit of glove on it but Gilchrist didn't collect a simple chance, it did come off the glove

43.5 Hogg to Dravid, 4 byes, now how did that miss the stumps? Dravid lost balance while trying to flick the ball, Hogg gets the ball to loop nicely into the right hander, pitch on middle and spin past leg stump, Dravid had dragged his back leg outside the crease so it's a missed stumping as well, Gilchrist is having a shocking day

50.6 Johnson to Dravid, no run, caught by Ponting! no it isn't! It's all happening! Dravid leans forward to drive away from his body, he plays inside the line and gets a thick outside edge to second slip where Ponting gets down low to take the catch, Johnson begins to celebrate but Ponting puts his hand up and says it didn't carry, well done

It was a close call, Ponting got his fingers around the ball but it just fell centimeters in front of him.

SCG 2nd Innings

14.2 Johnson to Dravid, no run, dropped, Symonds grasses a sitter at first slip, Johnson hit the perfect length and line across the right-hander, Dravid was squared up on the back foot as he fended at the ball, the outside edge flew comfortably to Symonds who is at first slip because Hayden is injured, the ball popped in and popped right out

21.6 Clark to Dravid, no run, Dravid leans forward to defend but Clark pitches it on a good length and finds the outside edge, this time it falls short of first slip

WACA 1st Innings

27.2 Lee to Dravid, no run, oh Clarke's dropped it! Dravid goes fishing way outside off stump, gets a thick outside edge, very late into the shot as the ball comes onto him quickly, but Pup drops it at first slip, squeezing at it as he moves to his left and spills a sitter!

64.4 Johnson to Dravid, no run, thats a good shout! Johnson nails a good yorker on off stump and Dravid fails to bring the toe end of the bat down in time, the ball hits boot first and its very tough to judge that one, the ball may have carried on past off stump ... replays are inconclusive as well ... a very good ball from Johnson...

...Correction - replays are not inconclusive on the lbw shout. Ball was directed at off stump, so Dravid's lucky to be there. My apologies for the earlier comment, just saw the replay with some time.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

I see the great man Kumble isn't above appealing for LBW when the ball clearly comes off Lee's bat.

I thought that sort of stuff was cheating or bad sportmanship? Oh, that's right, only when the Aussies do it.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Lee gone... 8/195.

Aussies in huge trouble here, they might need a few wickets before stumps to remain in the match.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Aussies are laying down.

No joke, double standards.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Well done India, finally playing to their potential.

Australia look lost without poor umpiring to aid them.

Let's hope they can make another 300-400 and put some real pressure on Australia.

GO INDIA!

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

I still have faith.

Tait and Lee will be getting Younis "banana ball" swing happening.
