In fairness to Haddin, Siddle looks better than our first drop as well.

We need to give Siddle bigger roles to fulfill his potential!!

Used to be #9, #10, when Johnson was batting. Now he's #8, he's playing so much better.
Used to be our #3, #4 bowler, and he's been given the job of 'leader' this summer, and has responded.

He'd hold his own at #3 !!! :D

Screw the hate in here, it makes zero difference. Haddin will play next test unless injured. He will always play until Paine is right to go. It makes no difference if he performs or not, may aswell hope he bats well for the team.

Selectors won't do a thing.

paine may never be right. if that's what we're waiting for than haddin may well stick around for another 3+ years

There is joy that he got out. If that's caring about the side then I live in an alternate world. Probably do.
We care about the long term health of the side (read, by next ashes).

If Haddin keeps getting ducks then the selectors will come under media pressure and be forced to drop him which will benefit the side immensly. Considering we are in a strong position this test, Haddins failure does nothing but increase the likelyhood that the team will be improved.

What we don't want, is Haddin to make 100 in a test where it might not matter (i.e. this one) and then be useless for the next 15 tests and potentially cost us runs through bad batting and atrocious keeping.

That's caring about the side to me.
