to be honest i still think he hasn't decided yet, hint what he will be thinking about during the break in NZ. he has to decide between money or being loyal..

Its not a deal though they are making a play at an uncontracted player. If it doesnt come off they arent about to sell the farm to get him.
They are chasing the player and making a massive offer. From the players point of view the deal is the contract North is offering and the implicit agreement that they will get them to their club if they agree to it. Unless their current club is being unreasonable the player would expect to get to the destination ( wanting two top 10 picks for a top two player of the competition at the moment wouldn't be unreasonable).

If that thing actually was the case then surely Hawthorn would have done that when Buddy left.

While I think it unlikely we get extra but the Buddy compo was before they actually "released" the rules for getting compo. The little cheat the AFL used to give the Dees pick 3 upset the clubs and forced them to publish actual rules.

Hawthorn tried from memory and the AFL knocked them back.

How long before th AFL scrap th compensation system?
Supposed to be free agency.. what if a club had been treating a player awfully and that player really wanted to leave that situation? Should th club be rewarded with a compo pick?
Anyway just my opinion on compensation picks... hope dusty stays, but if he goes we need to take it on th chin, get on with our chase of a flag

If you do that then you need to let clubs trade players against their will.

Not like australia is that big anyway.

Should be true free agency both ways

and a picture of the new vibrant puma guernsey, it's a coded message.
Everybody new that the release of that guernsey was about RFC's vibrant FUTURE, that means he is committed ;)
