Didn't realise he was a forward, thought he was a "wines-esque" midfielder

It amazes me how a bloke can be overlooked multiple times by every club in the draft, yet halfway through the season, he's good enough to play seniors.

I like the look of this kid, I really do.

Understand what your saying but it's not that amazing. A lot of people are still developing both physically and mentally into their 20's. I actually think the draft age is too young and should be put up a year. It would have to be done gradually though, maybe over 3 years.

Brad called him fast - is he that quick
He has an explosive burst of pace.

I can't really think of a proper example right now... maybe similar to Kieran Harper running toward goals type burst.

Really happy he's been given the opportunity, really could be a fantastic rookie pick (again) by the club.

Absolutely *love* this guy. I thought I was excited last week to watch Nielson's debut. I'm probably even more so this week to watch The Zurhaar get amongst it for North. He makes things happen. An impact player. Can't wait to watch his career for us.

Turner.... Garner.... Zurhaar.... cut from the same cloth.... :)

Dane Swan had good burst speed. Might be similar to him as a forward.

When watching him in the TAC game last year, I dont remember him being like a bull in that game. I probably didnt with SPP either. So they both matured very quickly over one preseason.

But please correct me if he was like that in that game.

Fair call, he's strong in the upper body like Swan too.
Yeah, got that barrel chested swagger. Our own Dustin Martin or SPP are other comparisons but we haven't really seen him as a midfielder yet. Will need to keep developing those parts of his game to make it at AFL.

It shows how much of a crap shoot drafting really is.

When a draft hopeful enters their all-important final season of underage Football, the one thing they hope for more than anything is an injury-free season so they can make a strong impression in the minds of AFL recruiters.

For Cameron Zurhaar, things didn’t quite go to plan in the early stages of the 2016 season.

“I tore three ligaments in my ankle in round three in a Colts game for East Fremantle, which caused me to miss eight weeks of the season.

“My first game back after the injury was in the State Under-18s.

“I felt happier with the second half of the season, but not completely satisfied as the ankle was still not fully healed,” Zurhaar said.

Zurhaar played in the Under-18s carnival for the second year in a row after being selected as a bottom age player in 2015, and he said that experience was extremely beneficial.

“Last year was a bloody great experience. I got selected for a trial game, kicked four goals and was picked for the squad, which I was over the moon about.

I don't really understand the thought processes, Cam was thereabouts then got a serious injury and doesn't get picked. Lucky for us of course. The Hawks have sold the farm on a guy who unfortunately is finished because of known injuries. Cam doesn't get drafted because of an injury.

It wasn't like Cam was hopeless- bit like us with Selwood I suppose.
