I love Cam, I think his best is close to unstoppable, and would keep him if it was up to me but this year he needs to prove he can be part of a forwardline that functions as a whole. Too many times he tries for goal when he's just not on and burns rare forward opportunities.

He's a bit like Luke McDonald at the other end in that he needs to appreciate his limitations and try to bring the young guys around him into the game more.
Yeah but what if the limitation of a player is they just dont pick up the options around them as well as others? The other thing is the position is tough, its a confidence game so even if he's not on those players will usually have the confidence to turn it around quicky.

Another year of our fans underrating him then
You'd think we're trying to hit him into our 1999 forward line. One of the few guys on our list who can actually turn games (and put bums on seats).. yet we're too busy picking flaws in his game or dreaming of the explosive half forward we can draft and pour 7 years of development into hoping they can play after we get the compo.

well that's just how the game works, he won't be at the right age profile for a player of his type by the time we are vying for a flag. He did his role well but the game is moving on. George and duursma fits the age profile far better.

Mate, your hit rate on this sudden flurry of player evaluation is poor at best. Please tell me how the game has moved on from a bloke who can accumulate, run, evade tackles, mark, and kick goals?

When are we vying for a flag in your humble estimation Rad Roo?

Can you enlighten me as to which games he has turned? I think he has achieved greatly considering he was a rookie. I just dont buy him being some kind of game turning superstar (at this stage). Based on his trajectory 5 years ago, its easily argued he has plateaued.

Cam has definitely lost games with his selfish play thinking he can slot boonahnahs from The boundary line 50m out. Or taking shots instead of passing the ball. There was a game last year he kicked 1 or 0 goals - 8 behinds and two out on the full. Thats not turning games, thats being a selfish knob

He’s still got 6-7 years of quality footy left in him. If we’re not vying for a flag during that time we might as well shut the joint down..

Oh please don't tell me Rad Roo is back? Now we're going to hear about how the holocaust is somehow on the same level to the demise of the North Melbourne Football Club because we didn't go to Gold Coast.

Sure he's a clown, but tbh I was a little concerned that it was a different past poster behind the new alias.

Off the top of my head, Richmond 2019, multiple games vs *.

One thing I did agree with Bradley "Subdivision" Scott on when defending LT was that generating lots of scoring opportunities is the hard part.

And in terms of playing style, players either have the ability to play with burst and power or they don't. Pretty much all the explosive players showed that ability at least sporadically at U18 level - e.g. Petracca, Martin, Dangerfield etc.

Cam has proven he can produce to a high level in bursts. I'm not going to can him for consistency or put his deficiencies under the microscope when he's been producing in a weak, unstable side over a few years.

If we're picking at his flaws then we need to worry about LDU's consistency or Larkey's lack of contested marking too

that's correct...for him but he might never get to his best at north just as waite never got to his best at carlton, also with higgins. Players moving around is normal. We need another genuine key fwd, sellers might be a dud but might be a very solid player. By 2026, we prob need to throw big money at a big key fwd like lynch, cameron to partner with larkey, who by then will be one of the top 3 key fwd in the comp.
