I found the blog post because I occasionally read Dave Weigel, who I think is an interesting voice (albeit one that's evolved a lot over the years).
Spot of luck, isn't it, that it happened to echo your position.

Have you ever quoted one of his articles on here before?

You don't need to answer, this is just a personal call out.

I mean, Rupar is an establishment hack who has given specious nothing responses for his view on Biden's greatest liability and who had previously shown his hand in being critical of Sanders and the left in the 2020 primary.
Yes, you've made it very clear that the people sharing the footage are the enemy. Just more of The Swamp, Deep State, The Establishment.
I'm sure there's plenty of things you can call Rupar out for.
Because you understand that everything he does is in the context of everything else he's ever done. And you'll easily be able to point out what that implies.
You've just done that.

Maybe you could try to apply that to Trump?

Unfortunately, many of the things you've listed haven't been picked up on because of the focus on the "bloodbath" reach.
This is just such blatant, misleading bullshit.
It's infuriating that you actually wrote that, because you know you don't believe it.

How transparent can you be, when you say that it's THEIR fault that the rest of the footage is being ignored, because of the 'fake news' DISTRACTION, THAT YOU'RE PROMOTING, has taken over the discussion.
As you share blog posts attacking them, while pretending you're against the distraction.
Transparent and disgusting.

I specifically made sure the things I listed were from the same tweet thread of footage, because I wanted to be able to easily link it, if you asked for verification.

So no, those things weren't missed because of these crafty establishment partisan purveyors of 'fake news'.

It's been missed, because looking at the bloodbath comment in the context of the rest of the rally is damning.
So it needs to be completely isolated from the rally, from his history, and from common sense... So that the 'fake news' narrative and the enemy-of-the-people Tweeters are the main story.
What other dirt can you dish on the Tweeters?

It's genuinely disgusting.
You're blaming the Tweeters for the 'fake news' narrative run to defend Trump, on the fact that the rest of what they shared is being ignored BECAUSE OF THE NARRATIVE YOU'RE HELPING TO PUSH.

It's been noted before that, to Biden's detractors, he's both a dribbling senile fool but also a Machiavellian schemer wielding power to oppress the poor suffering Right.
Yes, and while you'd probably push both aspects of 'genocide Joe' and 'dementia Joe'...

But we can also see that Trump's an idiotic blowhard who regularly rambles (increasingly so, as he also loses his faculties) and goes off on tangents, but also every word is specifically chosen to have layers to ferment violence.

I've very clearly and deliberately pointed out that "Trump always drifts off to random side talking points during monologues, in reference to previous thoughts or things he's heard".1

No one has said, or is saying "every word is specifically chosen to have layers to ferment violence". And you know that.

Why do you need to be so dishonest, just to defend Trump and attack the people for sharing it?

Um, I have? Is this not from that rally? (Or if not the same one then an aspect of it that's the same.)
Yes, your framing of Trump opening a rally by honouring the people who planned and carried out a siege on The Capital, to keep Trump in power and kill those who oppose him, as 'weird'... as downplaying and dismissive.

You have more hostility and contempt with the people who shared the footage, than you do with 'Trump being a bit weird'.

Sky News gets Nigel Farage to ask Trump a leading question about Kevin Rudd. Trump clearly hasn’t heard of him but obliges with a generic lazy insult, which can then be reported breathlessly in the Australian media for the next week.

Above all else it just speaks to how sad the state of our media is, and how effortlessly the Murdoch machine sets the narrative.
Very astute observation...

How easily a narrative is set...

Anyway, where were we?
Oh yes, exposing those Tweeters who shared the footage. Creating doubt, fear and resentment towards them. While pointing out that Trump is once again a victim of the establishment MSM 'fake news'.

Here's the full thread from the Repugnant Rupar, with all of the footage he shared. Where he didn't mention bloodbath.
But it's his fault that we are attacking him, and ignoring the rest of the rally.

The "Tariffs on everything" is just a replacement mantra for "build a wall". From keeping foreign people out to keeping foreign manufactured goods out.

Worth pointing out that he didn't build much wall and what was built has proven to be useless
Yet the US trade deficit rose 35% whilst he was in office.
And going back last time he was president and put tariffs on Chinese goods telling his cult followers china would pay which they didnt , going the same line saying mexican govt will pay
Subsidies to farmers near tripled, as Trump’s ill conceived tariff wars saw farm sales to China plummet from $19.5b (in 2017) to just $9b within 12 months, farm debt rise to historic levels and farm bankruptcies jump 20%.

Never mind that Trump introduced the USMCA which eliminated tariffs on cars built in Mexico going into the US.

So he either made a bad deal or he is responsible for the "automobile bloodbath" (whatever the f@#$ that is) that will be coming?

Like all agreements that dont favour usa 100% , he will leave or threaten to leave them if he gets up in november

2. Yes, I think pretty much self-evidently. I said previously that Trump says and does so much psychotic s**t that I don’t think it’s helpful to, at best, construe the worst possible meaning from an offhand comment he made in a different context. It gives credence to his and his followers whining about fake news media, and it’s unnecessary.
Not so sure myself, and its certainly not 'self-evidently'.

"If I don't get elected its going to be a bloodbath for our country, that will be the least of it" - you can reasonably read it as the that being the chinese/auto stuff he was just talking about.

At best its ambiguous, probably deliberately so. Donnie loves a good dog whistle after all.

The Republican Study Committee have released their budget plan. It's truly an election year budget that will no doubt win a lot of swing voters to the Republican side.

Points include:

• Raising the Social Security retirement age for future retirees
• Converting Medicare to "premium support", competing with private plans
• Rolling back the Affordable Care Act,
• The Life At Conception Act, which would aggressively restrict abortion and potentially threaten IVF.

They aren't going for the oldies votes??

• The Life At Conception Act, which would aggressively restrict abortion and potentially threaten IVF.
There goes 50% of their voter base.

Just going through the 180 pages, half of which is critical of Biden and using 2015 stats but this made me laugh:

Two years ago, Senate Armed Services Committee discovered the Department of Defense spent 6 million man-hours on woke training and programing.
The military also spent 530,000 hours and $477,000 on diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) training according to data given to Senate Republicans.182 This is completely unacceptable; the RSC Budget would prohibit funding on woke policies in the Department of Defense.

The real problem with that is because it's defence every one of the hours was probably billed at $1000.

1. It’s worth noting (as though it’s not clear from their tweets generally) that these tweeters are partisan players, akin to a liberal Fox News, and their posts should be taken within that context or whoever else the right have on their payroll. They’re helpful in that they sit all day watching media and post clips of highlights online, but they’re selective in what they post (sometimes dishonestly so) and have the same brain rot as you would expect anyone who spends their waking hours watching American political media to have.

This balance is needed otherwise the tactics of the Fox News and alt right are unopposed due to the inherent stupidity of the mass population. Yes it means the election is a shit show if lies. But since there’s no appetite to control the excesses of the alt right, the alt left need to go hard with misinformation as well.

Irony

[2.86m personnel = 2.1 hpp on what the Republicans deemed to be ‘woke issues’.

90% was training for identifying extremists within the military and dealing with them.

A distressingly large number of people who attacked the Capitol had ties to the military and law enforcement. CJCS Gen Milley and his senior colleagues viewed extremism amongst the military to be a serious problem that needed to be promptly addressed.]

He's an Economics simpleton - the China tariffs were all passed on to the American consumer and the needle on the International Trade balance never changed in the US favour.
Furthermore his Trade War with China cruelled their GDP numbers which were in the mid to high 1% when reconciled and not the reported 2.5% or Trumps best ever economy figure bullshit.

calling a former American President and hot favouirte to be the next president "Nuts", "a Traitor to the West" and a " destructive President"

Apart from missing sex offender, tax avoider and draft dodger, it's pretty bang on.

Good grief, how can anyone defend Kevin Rudd on anything?? His track record in Australia places him at the top of the list of worst PMs we've ever had. Rudd's bullying tactics won't work in the USA calling a former American President and hot favouirte to be the next president "Nuts", "a Traitor to the West" and a " destructive President" Did the world end when Trump was in office? What destruction does he speak of? Albo is quite happy to have Rudd as far away from Australia as he can send him. All Trump said was " he's a little bit Nasty" and "not the brightest bulb" His own colleagues knew this in 2010 when they gave him the boot and the Australian people kicked him out of the top job again in 2013! Rudd was a lot more destructive in Australia in a very short time than Trump's first term in office.

Although it is mentioned in another thread about j6 , what are the chances trump awards posthumously some sort of heroic award to the Trump supporting tourist killed on J6
Pardoning the j6 crims is a given if he wins

That would be taking the piss to any elected member and official there that day

I would refuse to attend any event where a trespasser is given a Medal of Freedom etc

So it looks like there's another case Trump doesn't have to worry about. Thanks AOC.

Sounds like you are gleefully hoping to get Trump and his co conspirators off?
I thought you weren’t a Trumper.
At least that’s what you pretend. 😀
Stop embarrassing yourself.
It’s painful to watch.
