Good old Joe “no one is above the law” Biden is writing pardons left right and centre for his buddies on his way out the door… what crimes is he worried they committed?

What a dangerous example he is setting going forward…

Biden's domestic presidency has a so-so legacy; possibly befitting his fetishisation of bipartisanship, it feels like he regularly had a "one step forward one step back" approach. On one hand Build Back Better, on the other the dismantling of the (temporary, yes, but it didn't have to be) welfare state that was set up out of necessity during Covid. On one hand record climate investment, on the other record fossil fuel production.

But there's no such comme-ci comme-ça in his foreign policy, particularly in the second half of his presidency. He didn't undo the problems of Trump's creation - no reentering of the Iran deal, finally lifting off the State Sponsor of Terror list a week before the inauguration (at which point Rubio will doubtlessly put them back on the list), and escalating tension with Russia (to Ukraine's detriment) and China in a rush for a New Cold War. Credit is due for withdrawing the US from Afghanistan, the best decision of his presidency, no matter what some say. However, the genocide in Gaza and his role in it will forever be his legacy and is a large part of his being second to only George W Bush for the worst approval ratings of a departing President in the last half century.

Then there's the scandal of his mental deterioriation, as stories come out more and more about his infirmity, and as we look at who knew, when, and what they did about it. It's a scandal that will plague the leadership of his party, who repeatedly lied and told people not to believe their own eyes. Especially in light of the concern about Trump's potential fascism, it was inexcusable.

So Trump pardoned nobody that he personally knew during his last administration?

Do schools teach critical thinking anymore?

Trump, Dec. 2024, NBC News, talking about Jan. 6 committee members: "They should go to jail ... they have done something so illegal."

Sept. 2023, Truth Social, talking about Milley: "This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH."

Musk, 2024: "My pronouns are still prosecute/Fauci." Ted Cruz, 2022: "Dr. Fauci flat-out lied to Congress. Yet Merrick Garland and the Biden DOJ won't prosecute." MTG: "I told Dr. Fauci to his face that he should be in jail and prosecuted for crimes against humanity."

Trump in 2024 retruthed AI photos of Fauci and others with “HOW TO ACTUALLY ‘FIX THE SYSTEM.’”

Biden wouldn’t need to pardon anyone if Trump just stopped issuing death threats to people he disagrees with 🤷

His final action

Mr. Biden’s action pardoned James B. Biden, his brother; Sara Jones Biden, James’s wife; Valerie Biden Owens, Mr. Biden’s sister; John T. Owens, Ms. Owens’s husband; and Francis W. Biden, Mr. Biden’s brother.

He also pardoned Fauci. Unbelievable.

Can you name his criminal activity?

I'm shocked not shocked how some of you function day to day

Have some critical thinking - just dont watch Sky all day

Trump is a mean vindictive man-child who will do whatever he can because some authority figure took his toys once

Bunch of sock puppets at times

More air time than Trump

Oh. You are one of them. There is one holy pure good side and one black nasty evil side. Sigh.

What’s sky? The.only sky I watch is sky sports F1 coverage.

If no crimes committed why the need to pardon him?

To prevent the spurious investigations that Trump had threatened. It's not difficult to work out.

A Trump supporter worried about other people committing crimes. Kind of sums up MAGA in a way.

Trump's DoJ was going to go after all these people. Pardoning them has saved them and the DoJ hundreds of millions of dollars.

Trump can now sit back and laugh.all it’s done is prove the Biden crime family was true…

Credit to Biden amidst these pardons, he granted clemency to Leonard Peltier. Did not think I’d see the day.

It’s a joke that they don’t have an age limit for their Supreme Court judges because, unlike the politicians, no-one can ever vote them out.

Maybe the geriatric scenario of Trump-Biden-Trump is an argument it needs to be introduced for presidents too. (Which presumably could only be introduced by the geriatric Supreme Court.)
