CBS reporting that secret service snipers were stationed inside the building as the Trump rally shooter climbed to the roof. One of the snipers inside saw the armed shooter outside, looking up at the roof, several minutes before the shots were fired.

Yeah, WTF.

He had to, if he hadn't the outrage from the MAGAS and media would have been off the charts. I am still seeing people complain that he took an hour to put out a statement about the Trump shooting [apparently he was in church when the shooting happened] but was quick to comment on Vance being VP.

Its politics. You can't win.
You take too long to do something, and you are slow, indecisive but if you take action on anything immediately you are rash, and don't think things through.
Happens to everyone at the top of the tree at some point.

I still see people criticizing Bush for finishing reading to kids after he was told about 9/11. But if he had rushed out panicked and scared/scarred those kids, thats all we would hear about instead.

Just picturing Bush going all George Castanza on 9/11

You have to think they have been pretty lax at rallies for a while and become very complacent.

President Biden is finalizing plans to endorse major changes to the Supreme Court in the coming weeks, including proposals for legislation to establish term limits for the justices and an enforceable ethics code, according to two people briefed on the plans.
He is also weighing whether to call for a constitutional amendment to eliminate broad immunity for presidents and other constitutional officeholders, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.
The announcement would mark a major shift for Biden, a former chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who has long resisted calls to reform the high court. They potential changes come in response to growing outrage among his supporters about recent ethics scandals surrounding Justice Clarence Thomas and decisions by the new court majority that have changed legal precedent on issues including abortion and federal regulatory powers.

Good little carrot to dangle in front of voters.

His insight is impaired...he told a number of lies himself in that debate as fact checked by CNN.
That may be so, but the point is that there was almost zero blow back towards Donny's constant lying. I would say he really is Teflon Don, but the media didn't even throw anything at him after the debate, so his special coating wasn't required.

Well of course the 24/7 coverage he has received the past 8 years which has led to him dodging an assassins bullet isn’t a enough scrutiny…

Probably too late to try and make those changes, but that said the Supreme Court absolutely needs all those changes that are suggested. Term limits, stricter auditing on gifts etc, age limits.

And If they are going all in, age limits on the Presidency as well.

But this is stuff that should have been done 1st or 2nd year, not right before an election.

An alleged republican assassin. And much of that coverage has been either positive or neutral by main stream media, who seem to be in thrall to him as well as bending over backwards to provide good and bad on both sides. We won't even mention the uber-right wing media. You also have to acknowledge that Trump craves attention, and doesn't seem to care what he does to get it. Just look at how much he posts on Truth Social.

My understanding is that the party won't want a President and VP from the same state, especially perhaps California.
Thats my feel as well and the double whammy is that the next best candidate is Gretchen Whitmer

Just as no 2 Calis I dont thjnk 2 females would work
