Had no impact on the end result. Was the right decision to bat on.
Obviously not. Did we miss the part where you won because of it?
I thought you guys were meant to move the game along? Where’d that philosophy go?
Instead you tried to bat us out of a test with lots of rain forecasted.
Very strange.

It's not rocket science.

You had to bowl us out twice to win.
Batted on way too long.

You seem to be the only one that doesn't get it TBH.

The declaration was perfectly timed. We needed to bowl you out but also preferably needed to avoid having to bat again to maximise our chances of winning.

Joe Root in the media over here overnight (I’m currently in Bristol on holidays and the sun is shining!) saying that they should play until 10:00 PM….

I bet if the Poms were in our position he wouldn’t have said anything…

Also, Marnus being grilled heavily in the media over here re his refusal to walk and of course bringing the spirit of cricket into question……whilst there hasn’t been a thing said about Root catching on the bounce yet the Poms deciding to review it…

Honestly are there a bigger bunch of f*** hypocrites than the Poms???

Who will forget this day with Australia retaining the Ashes sitting in the dressing room playing cards? With Warner he will probably be playing Snap.

Great memories.
One great memory i dont have is when NZ played an important test series.

I mean, we occasionally throw them a bone and play a few meaningless games to make them feel important, but not sure of anything else they might be doing.

Does anyone know what benefit Plugger35 gets from being a constant Debbie Downer?
Match threads is all umpire whinging and now raining on our parade here.

You win 1 of 4 Ashes tests you can't really expect to win the urn.
Thoroughly deserved success by Australia.

What makes you think Australia would've been rolled out cheaper than they're currently just 4 down for if England had declare earlier and given them even better batting conditions?
Day 3 they needed 1 or 2 more wickets. The reprieve meant Labs and Marsh knew they could regather and try to hold on for just one more session, half of which against spinners only.

Would it have introduced some risk to bat even more aggressively from late on day 2 onwards, and declare earlier? Of course. But it was the time to roll the dice and work through the main batters on day 3.

Imagine only having Green, Carey and the bowlers to dismiss yesterday.

England couldn't have predicted the last day would be a total washout, the forecast didn't look that bad a couple of days ago.

It's hard for any team to force a result when you lose almost 2 days to rain.

We all knew Day 3 and 4 was going to be heavily rain affected, the fact England would've won this match by an innings an x means they batted for far too long, they should declared at 150 in front and chased down all the required runs in one session.

They knew they had to win a draw or lose was the same result for them. Dumb cricket.
