4th test Australia v India at the Gabba 1030 AEDT

That’s the best series win by a touring side that I can think of, honestly thought after 36 all out and Kohli gone that India would capitulate and the series would limp to an easy Australian win.

Fantastic team effort by India, players kept getting injured, but their replacements all came in and contributed, led amazingly well by Rahane, they should all feel so proud.

Our side has a bunch of problems, but for now I’m just going to appreciate what a fantastic win and series of test cricket that was.

The 1985/86 series win by NZ was my favourite series win by a touring side here but NZ were at full strength while Australia were weakened by the SA rebel tour.

This series win by India after losing the first test along with Kohli and about half their full strength line up and still beating a full strength Australian line up, respect.

There is nothing Aus could have done to draw it. Aus lost all 10 wickets yesterday. It wasnt a declaration. Honestly you dont want to see another thrashing from India at Lords. do you?

Australia could have batted more conservatively yesterday instead of throwing wickets away at times if you want to be pedantic.

Alrite now for the reality. Aus bowlers bowled short pitched to an already injured Saini lol. Aus should prep well and be ready when they tour India next. Ind won't have this many injuries to fast bowlers all the time.

That innings from Pant had a lot of similarities to Stokes innings at Headingly, paced it superbly, dug in defensively and then pounced when the bowlers tired.

Had some luck too like Stokes, the missed stumping off Lyon that went for for 4 byes after he took a swing was pivotal, get Pant there and it's a different game.

That's the great thing about test cricket, a 5 day test match can come down to a few moments and a few millimetres.

Been thinking long and hard since the embarrassing loss...the biggest problem we have preventing change is the Big Bash. It has taken over from 4 day state cricket, and the players vying for selection have barely played a game since the test series started because they've been sitting on the bench for the test team. Guys like Henriques, Neser, Swepson and Abbott, whether you'd agree with their selection or not, have no exposed form because they haven't played a competitive long form match in months.

I agree changes need to happen, but until we get exposed form in 4 and 5 day cricket, it will not happen.

Losing todays test instead of drawing it will be what costs us a spot in the final at lords.
We just got belted at our impregnable fortress by India C. Perhaps we don't deserve to be playing in the final at Lords.

I'm surprised at the amount of crap the bowlers are coping on here, if it wasn't for them we might of lost the series 3-0.

I wonder if any of them saw Warner looking all smug straight after the game.
He just can't keep his smug pig face out of the spotlight. Can't stand him. If Warner & Smith weren't in the team, this series loss would hurt much, much more.

I can just imagine this forum after the classic 1960/61 tied test against the West Indies.

Richie Banaud is the worst Australian captain and spinner I've ever seen, that spud cost us the game #delist

Still sinking in how impressive this Indian performance has been. It's like back in the 90s where the line was the Australia A side would beat most other test sides in the world-- well India's essentially second string side just did in Australia in their own backyard. Serious dynasty vibes from them now:

- Gill looks unbelievably good... potentially better than Kohli at the same stage.

-Pujara-Kohli-Rahane would be up there with their best ever middle order.

- Pant went full Gilchrist this series, I guess the worry is will his keeping hold up to spinners in India? But gives them a lot of options with how they put their side together.

- Easily their best ever pace attack. Bumrah a one of a kind freak, Shami, Ishant and Siraj all competing support cast. Siraj a real find. And they have decent depth there which as this series showed is very important.

There's been no dominant side for the last five or so years, which has been refreshing and interesting... are we about to see India ascend to a dynasty comparable to 70-80s West Indies or 90s-00s Australia?

It isnt hard to understand.

Australian fans have themselves to blame for this.

After the ball tampering episode, there was a total over reaction and embarrassing exercise in hand wringing.

CA bent over to outraged fan's demands and excessively banned Warner and Smith for 12 months. Sentences generally reserved for drug cheats and criminals. I can still see the twitter feed now full of idiots with no idea.

We were even lectured by an ex Goldman Sachs employee about morals. Yes, Goldman Sachs. A company who sucks money out of any orifice it can gets hand into and was neck deep in causing the GFC.

Smith was a capable captain, Warner, while a bit wild, was a capable deputy.

Paine is also capable. But the dynamics of the way we play cricket have changed forever. Any banter or sledging, or players letting off steam is now examined forensically and other players continue to let rip ad nauseum.

Any loss and fans wanna sack half the team and the coaches. As if that has ever changed anything.

We are still playing with one hand behind our back. More concerned with image then winning the game.

You sooks are to blame.

Those dust bowls in India? There will be no pace and bounce. Just raging turners next time we tour

It would have positively exploded here after this match. BF may never have recovered.
