Did I say people turned today? No.

Because Ponting is intentionally trying to give a match away isn't he... I don't think people realise that there is usually a good reson that such decisions are made in a game of cricket, I personally thought it was strange at the time, at the end of the day you need to trust that he and the coach know what they are doing. It isn't a fluke that Ponting is our captain and we are watching and listening from home! He is the best man in the land for the job - not us!

It is funny, he will return to Australia for our summer and churn out the runs against the Kiwi's and the South African's and once again he will be the apple of everyone's eye - even those who have been so quick to paste him recently!

If he scores runs against the Kiwis and the Saffers, I'll jump back on him.

Obviously we're not the ideal captains. Some of us don't even play cricket. I just fail to see the logic behind bowling spinners who don't look like taking wickets (even though Krejza was bowling his heart out) to avoid a suspension when the team can win without you. Senseless.

But that is not my point.

Ponting`s tactics got us back into the game after lunch, something you seemingly will not acknowledge.

Wasn't watching after lunch. But, taking your word as gospel, his tactics after tea would seemingly cancel out his post-lunch tactics.

If you are going to criticize his tactics post-tea, give him credit for what happened in the middle session.

What was India's position in the first over after lunch?

As I said, in the overall scheme of things, Australia did brilliantly to bowl India out yesterday, especially given the position at lunch.

How about some balance in your assessment of what happened yesterday?

We bowled extremely well and played good cricket to bowl India out in a day. All I'm saying is that I thought it could have been done quicker & easier, and with a minimum of runs bled.

Hahahahaha Gavaskar/Shastri is devastated (can't tell them apart who cares!).

How funny would it be if we won by getting 200 runs through edges, dropped catches etc.! :D

Because balance is not fun. Sme captains would barely have given Krejza another spell for the match after his opening spell in the first innings. Twice Ponting's captaincy has got us back into this match, once his captaincy MAY HAVE cost us.

Perhaps what cost us even more was very hesitant batting on the third day.

I feel your pain FG, don't get me wrong, we need to ride this one out and get the boys home from India for a big summer against the Kiwi's and South African's!!! We must stand by the lads through thick and thin that's all I am saying.....

I wonder what the cricketing geniuses:rolleyes: of chappell, shastri or gavaskar would have done if in Ponting's direct position yesterday.
Risked suspension and carried on or bowled spin to pick the rates up?
Have they mentioned this today? or yesterday?

At this rate they'll be down 10 overs by lunch.

That's just bloody atrocious. For heaven's sake the referees and umpires need to be given greater powers to address this at the time. Is compromising the game. If a side can not manage at least 27 overs in the time given they need penalties that hurt at the time. Not just crappy little fines.

Well I think they are in the 15th over now which is pretty terrible. They are probably making up time though with the spinners. I doubt we will got 90 overs in even if somehow we bat all day, maybe 85 with the extra half hour.
