Had a few too many beers at the North Suberban Club last night and the footy gossip over the bar was that OEG have five major signings in place for the 2009 season . Can any of our new feral OEG posters enlighten us to the talents of Trakovski [vfl] , Flaharty [QFL] and Hachem [EDFL]. Cant remember who the other two were .

Exciting times ahead for the club, could be a crowded fwd line with Hakim, Condos, Skurrie, Cooper and Flaherty. Potent none the less!!!

Heard that J Watts, M Quinn, T Harvey are a chance to cross from Strathmore to OEG next year....any truth to the rumour??

Well given Myles Quinn left Strathmore at the end of 2007 and played last season with St Kilda City in the SFL. perhaps that's an indication of the accuracy of your source.

With that Umper Lumper look alike Luke 'Mirrors' Holmes receiving the award for best umpire ,do you think he could be asked to try out for an AFL position ? We can only hope .

Isn't a umper lumper like a speed hump except made out of umpires that you actually speed up to go over.

I think it would be either:

1. an apt description for several of the sacred men in white operating in the lower divisions of our great comp.

Whilst the likes of Firley, Sutcliffe, Hinton, et al have to run around in the shower to get wet, there's plenty of roofs over the umpiring toolsheds in D1 and below!

OR

2. what Benny Goodman gets when he receives some positive feedback from coaches about his charges' performances. The umper lumper tends to appear just a smidgeon below Benny's equator.

OEG would like to welcome Jeff White to the club with his experience and handy ruck work we will certainly shake up this comp.

I hear Jake Anstey might have his last swansong year with the Tigers as his young brother Sam is assistant coach

Will be a good coup and terrific signing for the suburban club

Word around the office water cooler that a number of Collegians prime movers are either retiring or moving on to greener pastures next season . Could have missed their opportunity .

There has been a couple of players moving on. but thats not to say they have missed their opportunity, certain key positions need to be filled but hopefully the recruitment of some new blood into the club will help. It will be interesting to say the least. I think the real problem is they dont have a coach and preseason should be kicking off soon. Will be interesting to see whether anyone will take the job. they have advertised for a while now and very little has come from it, so certain sources say. Anybosy else have any insight into whether they have found a coach as of yet?
