I am now associating #1 with players who are shown the door.

Feel like a change Shannon?

Nah, I'm serious. Is Adam a dud or not? I've seen him play 5 times and he looks like a Melbourne reserves player.

well he doesnt turn 19 till next year so are you going to judge him now or wait maybe 1 or 2 years until his actually not a kid anymore. how does he look like a melbourne reserves player what makes you say that?

i dont think his a dud, i wouldnt say his a good player at vfl level yet but im not going to judge a kid who still should of been playing tac cup last season. i think its good that this little tradition is continued

It really sh1ts me how people throw around words like 'rubbish' & 'dud' in this kind of situation. The kid has only just turned 18 FFS! ..and could very well be reading this. Do people think players (...most often Byrnes) are robots? Fair enough if they're not up to AFL standard, and sure mention it, but enough with the bullsh1t melodramatic insults.

People stupidly blame players for there own inadequacies and feel they have the right to abuse them because of it. All they are doing is playing footy to the best of their ability. Do you honestly think they are not working as hard as they can?

It's particularly disgraceful when they are just kids.

Actually, he's closer to 19 than 18. (Feb 1990)

And if I hurt his feelings from an internet forum, perhaps he shouldn't be playing AFL football. If he's up to google searching himself or trawling internet messageboards seeing what people are saying about him, I think his priorities may be out of whack.

I don't blame him for my inadequacies at all, I would be utterly stupid if I even tried to do that, so not sure why you raised it? Seems like a pretty lame point. I don't live my life through 18 yo kids, and feel genuinely sorry for you if that's what you do.

I have no doubt he tries as hard as he possibly can. Probably works even harder than many, many players on our list. But, a bloke can try and try and try and try, and still be a dud. These are just the facts of life. Call it genetics, call it the vibe, call it Mabo. It just is. There's no shame in it.

We've had plenty before him, and there's going to be plenty more after him, such is the cycle of footballers. For every Jimmy Bartel, there's a Danny O'Brien (another hard worker). For every Matthew Egan, there's a Matthew Spencer (another hard worker).

I never questioned his work ethic at all, I questioned his natural ability. Y'know, the stuff you can't teach.

When I've watched him play, he looks totally lost, unwilling to go in to a contest, and stands too far out from contests to be an outside player. His defensive work is 'developing' i.e poor and not natural, and his skills look sub par for VFL.

But, at pick 60, you get what you pay for.

lol haha i dont think he looks at bigfooty i doubt any of the players look at the crap we all post.

If Shannon read what we say about him on here, he'd have slipped into a deep bout of depression years ago. :p

His only a youngster so there is no need to bag him and let's give him time to see how he works out. At least he wants to play for the jumper so that's heaps better then some others in the AFL :thumbsu:

yeah i agree i dont see what bobby giovanni's problem is young kids like adam always look lost early on and why does it matter how he looks? he looks fine to me i dunno how he looks like a steaming pile of dud whatever that means.

Agree, Gaz struggled early too. Looked like he 'may' make the grade I agree but that's about it.
