I agree about First Rounder. Not happening

I'm told couple of options being considered. We are trying to get someone else that will cost us Pick 8 or it may be split. We are also looking at trading next years first to a club for this years pick around 15 to save them using it on a player they will get via NGA/FS which we could also use?

Your deal for Saad is around the mark of what I have been told. Just not sure Jack is involved.

I do believe a deal hasn't been agreed as yet. Too many balls in the air

If Carlton are looking at trading next years first for a pick around 15, surely they just look at using it in a trade for Saad instead?

Regardless of what position he plays you want the third best player at Essendon fc pay up or shut up. Pick 8 will have to be on the table if not salad can pickick up his keys for his new Hyundai at Carlton and drive himself to the pre season draft.
Just letting you know Gibbs went for pick 7 (equivalent) while being 2 years contracted, playing midfield and coming 3rd in carltons BnF. I’d rate Saad around 18-25 in comparison. But hopefully he doesn’t fall off a cliff afterwards.

You forgot the "also being 2 years older" part.
I'd still say somewhere around 15 is his value. Picks are extremely overrated on here.

If we walk Saad to the draft theres not going to a FA bid for Merrett. Merrett and his manager need to see that we can deal with Dodoro over a required player of theirs. Because they will match and we need to prove we can get what we want quickly and without the draft.
If Saad goes in the PSD to Carlton then Dodoro loses his job. Simple. Merrett will be easier as he won’t ****ing be there.

Seriously?

Because Dow was a top 5 pick who is still developing and had injury issues all year.

So you essentially think Saad I'd worth 2 1st rounders with steak knives?

Good luck with that. See you at the PSD. If he ends up back at Essendon or North so be it.
I wouldn’t trade Saad for Dow straight up.

Disco aint losing his job with Sheeds on the board. They've already done a hatchet job on Richardson and gave him his marching orders. Rutten will be next.

Alert! This may frustrate dumb posters!

Fact check:

- carltons pick will be minimum of pick 9. Daniher done and doggies is a lock. Means your pick at best is 9

Worst case 12 (port, sydney and Collingwood academies less likely).

When saying he’s not worth 7 it doesn’t hold weight, you dont have pick 7. Never did. It’s the same as saying he isn’t worth pick 3 which you also don’t have.

Say he is not worth pick 9

- PSD is not a threat to a club with a lower pick than you that has already offered the same money.

If your going to be petty and threaten then please threaten with the national draft pick 9

Please be aware this means you value him at that pick and you look stupid for not accepting pick 9 and a third.
You are aware it’ll be the same players available at pick 9 or 12 academies or not. Those players although biddable are not available at your pick. Simple. So pick 7 or pick 12 is still the 7th
Best kid available to you.

Well expect player agents to start requesting their clients away from the bombers. No one will want to go there and no one will be able to leave outside the PSD.

Essendon are high as kites thinking he's worth pick 8.

Goes hand in hand with demanding a 1st round pick for Orazion ******* Fantasia.

What drugs are they smoking? No wonder players want to leave.

16 years without winning a final does that to a club.

But 56 years without a premiership is like insomnia.

Value changes. Matthew Kennedy came from GWS to Carlton for pick 28 three years ago, and hasn't done much notable since. He's now out of contract with no suitors. Do you think his value is also the same as it was three years ago?
How has saad's value increased by that big a margin ?

His output has increased 10% statistically.

Either you ripped off gold coast the first time or you are overvaluing saad .

Probably a bit of both.

He is not contracted so where does this massive perceived jump in value come from ?

Pick 8 is laughable .

Where did I say it was a straight swap for a top ten pick?

He’s worth more now than what we paid for him then. That shouldn’t surprise anyone.

He doesn't want to be at your club and he is not 23 as he was when you acquired him .

Is this essendon tax ?
Most reasonable Essendon and Carlton supporters agree that the price is about a late first round pick. That’s more than 23, and less than 8.

Given that Carlton don’t have a late first round pick and can’t seem to split pick 8, most of us suspect it will be 8 for Saad + something.

How is that an Essendon tax?

Essendon tax = when a player goes to Essendon player is worth unders when a player leaves massive overs .

I'm sure Carlton can get a 15-20 pick without giving up pick 8

No it won’t be the 7th best kid available. You can’t get the number 1 pick, number 2 pick or an academy pick at pick 7. None are relevant.

selectively choosing your own reality to suit your narrative is not smart It is stupid and obvious.

just like when people say he’s 27 when he’s 26 till mid next year

It will be pick 9 as in the 9th best prospect at a minimum.

🤦‍♂️

It’s the 7th best player available to anyone. Except for the team that owns the NGA or FS. No one is getting JUH except the dogs.

Pick 8 for Saad & future 2nd.

Thats a fair compromise on both sides and is an even deal. Values Saad around pick 16.

Essendon fans don’t want to trade out of next years draft well tough t***ies that’s what it will take for an out of contract HBF.

And to think Dodoro wanted pick 8 + TDK. The guy is a nut job
