Most say we should be getting a pick back in the late teens for pick 8 so that has the right feel to it.
Next year's draft looks to be really, really good though. I doubt we will be wanting to give it up, we all know we will be bottom 3. Carlton have to come to the party here, maybe Dow?

If Mitch McGovern is involved in any deal with Essendon, they definitely won't be giving anything back after they get pick 8.

I don't think Essendon will be bottom three if they land Dunkley.

My gut feeling tells me that if the deal gets done early, Carlton have either organised a pick swap to obtain a pick in the mid teens for Saad or Dodoro is willing to accept our 2nd + fringe player.

If you land Dunkley I have you above the bottom 4. If the rumours are true about JSOS being 50/50 out the door then:

Carlton out: pick 8, JSOS
Carlton in: Saad, 2021 second round pick

Essendon out: Saad, 2021 second round pick
Essendon in: pick 8, JSOS

With maybe our 2021 3rds changing hands. I think thats overs but if he does want to leave then its for the best. I dont want to lose him though.

It's Saad and 19-23 next year for 8 and Dow.
How's that not even?

Seriously?

Because Dow was a top 5 pick who is still developing and had injury issues all year.

So you essentially think Saad I'd worth 2 1st rounders with steak knives?

Good luck with that. See you at the PSD. If he ends up back at Essendon or North so be it.

Dow was injured for most of the year. He is worth more to us than what opposition supporters would find palatable in a trade.

Carlton supporters wouldn't want his trade value to be determined by one injury interrupted year.

SOS confirmed him being injured all year and during the preseason in his interview on SEN.

Players involved in a trade for Saad would most likely be McGovern, JSOS or Kennedy.

Stopp smoking the happy weed mate, you will not get a first coming back. A third at best, and only if Adrian feels generous. We hold the cards, you want him then pay up or he goes to the psd and we take him back

Or the national draft and he'll cost you one of your own 1st round draft picks to draft a player who doesnt want to be there and who you've publicly slagged off.

Reckon it'll get done for 8 with your future second coming back our way.

No chance, Adrian won’t cave, maybe a fourth round at best

I don't understand how Carlton would even consider Pick 8 in a trade for Saad, regardless of what might be coming back.

Saad is a handy player. He is worth about pick 20.

Yep I'd more than happily pass on Saad and use pick 8 in the draft.

Dealing with Dodo is a flat out waste of time.

Pick 8 will not happen. PSD is more likely.

Dream would be Denver to slip but the AFL handouts make that even less likely now.

I think we need a long term replacement for Jones.

Ben McKay has been my preference for that. Granger-Barrass might be a touch too short for the King boys.

Wonder where he will end up height wise.

But we do have Marchbank and Weitering around the 195-200cm mark.

I really like the look of Denver

But hows his one on one? Most of what Ive seen and heard its his intercept marking and read of play as his strongest attributes. Ben and Weitering have stopping power and Marchbank is suited to the free-wheeling, intercept rebound style.

But I agree, hed be a good pick up if he slid that far. Cant see the Bombers passing on him though. Not unless another skinny flanker has taken their eye
