When are Carlton splitting pick 8? Thought that was a fait accompli?
Why rush we have got until next Thursday if we want to. We may find a better player to use it on. Saad wants to come to Carlton so lets see what we are left with next Thursday.

I'd be amazed if this deal is done before then.

Completely agree. Time is our friend, worst case no deal is done and Saad spits out into a draft. Essendon lose all compensation and there is a small chance we don't get Saad but it's highly unlikely. Despite all the media we hold more power here than the Dons, they need the pick and risk getting nothing at all. Cats are going to need a high end pick for Cameron and there will be a least one other looking to upgrade, no rush.

We're a in comfortable position, just let it sink in a while. Dodoro the old fox, if he does not want to have redraft a disgruntled and by then bitter Adam Saad with shinning new p7, he'll come around.

no, however Dow has a lot of upside.

Dons may rise up the ladder next year, taking their future 2nd rounder is risky

That trade values Dow above Saad, unless you assume EFC finishes above Carlton, which still values Dow close to Saad.

I’d have guessed a 2021 First for Saad + a pick would be Dodoro’s goal given that would offer currency Bulldogs might be interested in.

Essendon keen to walk Caldwell to the PSD but the Saad camp (not Carlton) merely mentioning the option = negotiating in bad faith.

Interesting.
Wouldn't it be a great result all round if they both nominated for PSD....everyone's gotta be happy with that!!!

Essendon get their man, Carlton get their man, and no draft picks had to be traded along the way :)

Carlton can split pick 8. Perhaps they want to make two selections in the first round this year.

Carlton's future first is more valuable anyway so that's what we'll be after.

You’re not getting next year’s first. Pick 18 for saad take it and run
PSD, like you did with Martin last year and we get Saad on a small wage :)
Essendon aren't afraid to let things go if they don't get what they want.
