There's a Geelong falcons kid at that pick. Inside/out mid Buhrn is the name.

They would only do this if they had someone in mind in any event

There are Geelong Falcons kids every year :)

I would think their best option is 3 picks inside 20 to start to replace the half a dozen players retiring in the next year.

West Coast being out means Geelong have pick 13 (before bids) + their own first rounder. If Carlton can do a deal and swap pick 13 and Geelong's first for pick 7 and maybe a second or 3rd, then we can get West Coast's pick and that's done. Carlton will keep Geelong's first.
You'd be getting the geelong pick now, not WCE's. Carlton have bigger fish to fry if we can get those picks off Geelong

Nah, we'd be getting West Coast's for sure. Otherwise we'll not trade him and be well within our rights to do so.

Why hasn’t he re-signed yet? FFS .... please sign!!! I really can’t keep reading this for the next month.
27 year old half back who cost a high second rounder, that doesn’t play any other position, hasn’t improved, runs like a headless chook with suspect disposal and they are asking for a round 1 pick..,,,give me strength.

If negotiation processes were so simple we'd have no OOC players that weren't intending to leave

Then you don't really know Dodoro. I highly doubt he'll accept Carlton taking Saad while keeping a pick before our pick. If you split the two, then it'll be the higher one for Saad.

It's funny to hear people who support a club with a player who is uncontracted dictate terms. Carlton have shown if the deal isn't right for them, they will walk.

And we've shown that if the deal doesn't suit us we'll walk too. I like how Carlton fans think that the Jack Martin situation here is relevant. Newsflash: Gold Coast didn't want Martin last year. We want Saad. Oh, and would you look at that? We have a pick before Carlton in the pre-season draft.

Relax my friend
No one has asked for anything yet. Trade season is a while away and saad hasnt made a decision yet.
If pure speculation and spitballing isnt for you, id steer clear of the draft and free agency forum

North Melbourne have a pick before you.

And are desperate enough to do it.

If Saad wants to get to Carltons it is incredibly likely we’ll get him on our terms.

There is no way Dodo lets him slip to North for free if there’s a late 1st/early 2nd or equivalent on the table.
On someone like Saad? Nah. If you don't pony up it'll be "Okay, you have two options. One, go to the PSD and not get through to Carlton by getting picked up by North or us, or re-sign with us".

If it's between Essendon and Carlton and Carlton don't pony up, do you think he'll re-sign or choose to go to North?

If he can put North Melbourne money on his head instead of the 600-700k (plus a Hyundai i30) he’s being reportedly offered at the moment, then why not?

Money talks.

FWIW I still think he stays at Essendon but if it comes down to it Carlton won’t be paying more than a pick around 16-20. Which is fair.

It will come down to whether Saad wants either side. I'm not overly fazed if we get him or not. Bigger fish to fry than a hbf

Didnt Gold Coast have a pick before us last year regarding Martin? Regardless what ever happens with Saad it wont come down to PSD.

If it's Carlton and Carlton want to split their picks into two first rounders then it'll be the higher one.

Already getting on the "Oh we didn't want him anyway" bullshit I see.
Bookmarked... 😁
Clearly I was talking about if Carlton don't pony up what we want from the trade...

Gold Coast didn't want him. They offered the contract to make sure other clubs got the chance to screw you over.

Just another example of supporters overrating their players worth.

Then you lose him for nothing to north, Checkmate.
You reckon that Saad will choose North over us when it's reportedly between our two clubs?
Im happy to see it fall over just to see you lose a player for nothing, could care less about getting saad.
If you don't pony up I reckon he'd re-sign with us.
