People are nuts if they think that those points express some legitimate values.

Show me a club that sell off their pick #7 for #12/13 & #41 with the purpose of using them in the draft?
The AFL put a point index system on draft picks for this exact reason. Carlton say 7 is too high, Ess say 18 is too low.. this values him exactly where most people are valuing him.. let's not get into semantics...

27 + future 2nd (30) values him higher so we will give you that as a thanks.

The AFL put in a point system so that it could find adequate measures for clubs to 'pay' for academy players & father/sons considering standard draft picks wasn't working.

If Carlton is intending to take Pick #7 & Pick #41 to the draft rather than 'pay' for a player using points then the split you offered up doesn't make sense; especially in 2020 when many clubs will use the minimum number of picks and the draft is unlikely to go beyond 60 picks. Picks in the 40's & 50's are valued less in 2020 due to how risky the draft pool is.

Essendon will get the pick Carlton give them... He's out of contract and wants out of EFC. There are serious problems at EFC when a consistent performer wants out for any other reason that doesn't involve money. Pick 27 is on the table and/or Kennedy and LOB if we are feeling generous. LOL Saad will get to CFC regardless of what EFC want in return.

EFC supporters have to face the fact that he doesn't want to be there. It's not like EFC didn't have the chance to re-sign him. It's not like the coach hasn't had the chance to play him in a role that suits the players strengths. Its a case of 'beggars belief' that the coach wants to play him as a back pocket when he is one of the best running defenders in the game.

Not comparing, I'm basing it off HIS value.. no one does or can do what he does..
Your evaluation is completely subjective.

I think you can make it a fair bit less subjective by looking at historic trades for the going rate.

I've got this value at 15-20, so if I was the carlton list manager I would be looking to upgrade 27 (seems the easiest to achieve for a carlton perspective). To me pick 7 should've be included directly or indirectly.

See how it unfolds, I just hope this doesn't drag on for the 2 or whatever weeks.

You know Dodo will drag it out as long as possible... LOL

If carlton don't offer up pick 7 as part of any deal, it'll drag on for the entire trade period.

Don’t think it has bruised any relations. You did a trade with us at the draft less than a month after the whole debacle.
Didn’t say it has bruised relations just Carlton’s rep. Easily rectified by not going to that well again

Sure I do what? I would be content with 27 and ur future 2nd.. but I can also see us still getting 7, as Dodoro tends to get what he wants.. majority of supporters, media and ex players seem to think 7 will be involved still.. we will see I guess..
Dodo won’t get it for a ooc player. But 2 second rounders is plausible and fair

Would be interesting to hear what Dodoro was saying about Saad when he was negotiating to get him 3 years ago for a future 2nd Round Pick that became Pick 35 2018 and was on-traded to get Bailey Williams to West Coast. Bent them over saying he's going home so if you don't take it he'll go to the pre-season draft no doubt.

Talk on our board is we are still chasing an Oliver, Wines type so i'd say the club is preparing to get him another way. Rumour about a pick trade with hawks maybe for 21? That might do the trick

... Saad was contracted when Gold Coast traded him to Essendon.
