How much did they pay for Wingard?

O'Meara estimated to be on $800-850k, Mitchell and Wingard both on $700-750k. The 3 highest paid players at Hawthorn apparently.

You always pay a premium to get guys to move, Mitchell would have gotten a pay rise when he signed an extension in 2019 off the back of his Charlie.

the Injury I believe was first diagnosed a lot earlier before it hit the media. It was only when they did the mri that they realised, it was a disaster. I am not sure of whether it was the lack of cartilage or another aspect. It is basically bone on bone. My understanding was that was the case prior to the injury occurring.

He apparently has had ongoing issues with his knee that didn't preclude him playing. The injury in 2019 may well be the straw that breaks the camels back, or he could play on ala Nick Riewoldt (not suggesting they have the same injury as I don't know) who reportedly had weekly treatments post games to get him up for the following week.

if that is the case then how were Tom Langdons issues not picked up?
Langdon was playing very good footy with his issues., but then he got a fresh tear to his miniscus. Previous issues made the fresh tear more likely, but far from a certainty. There is no certainty with man made F1 cars, let alone something far more complex - the human body.

Where ever he ends up, my tip is he's gonna have a point to prove. My tip is he'll end up here as the Pies won't move on the trade unless it absolutely favours us.

Look for a break out year from Adz in 2021, will be looking to up his value, hopefully with us. Play him on the outside where he should be and watch his DE go up.

Forget the hyperbole about his mental fragility - reckon that's more media beat up than actually Adz being mentally vulnerable.

so the latest from the experts is that the pies pay $300K for the next five years to get rid of treloar so that they can replace him with a player that they will probably pay $600K...... sounds perfectly reasonable
He’s only on $900k for one year, so that’s likely the year we would need to pay $300k... not every year.

May as well keep and pay the 900

that would be stupid wouldnt it? They could get a player for $600K who is probably guaranteed not to be as good at Treloar. And remember, buckley told trelaor that he wasn't wanted. I think sam edmends was the man who thought up both of those.

I have a new story... the pies say that they will willing to trade for any pick and not pay any salary...

Would not surprise me in the slightest to see Bulldogs decline on the basis of the medical. Not getting mentioned much in the media but I have a bad feeling (only because of the potential consequences)that he stays and that negotiations with any other club are too brief to achieve anything.

Hope a deal is reached for Adams sake. Imagine rocking up to pre season knowing the club doesnt want you.
I hope a deal isn’t reached for Adams’ sake. Imagine rocking up to the club as the Copeland winner and your only teammates left are Mayne, Wills, and Thomas.

Ummm, if we can't trade out, we may not be able to resign DeGoey, ie. no cap space, does that means he has to go via PSD or ND?

Not really. Just means we're less likely to retain Appleby or Wills or Lynch or A2B2....

Welcome Back Adam Treloar

So this then likely means we pay him during his $900k season, and then he tries for a trade at the end of 2021 a year older but on more reasonable coin?

Welcome Back Adam Treloar
Too quick!
