Man that is a good deal for Collingwood..I reckon you.will have to give a little more...I heard you will get Witts and our 1st rounder so I reckon you'll be happy with the deal.
McCarthy was never on the table....Excellent. Tony Armstrong and a third rounder for Treloar and McCarthy.
Nice doing business with you!
Assuming Treloar nominates us.Carlton are in the best position to land Treloar if we have the money
I think you are right. Talk has been they are right up against the cap as is.It would have to be some kind of Godfather offer to not only trump the Pies offer, but entice him from returning to Victoria to his family. Considering Dixon has just requested a trade to them, I can't see them even getting close to affording him.
How is it that every star player on our list followed Carlton as a kid.I'd love for AT to come out and say he doesn't mind where he gets traded to - whatever gets the best compo for GWS (I don't believe he'd want to screw over his club). The fact that he still hasn't nominated (this may of course change this week) a club means he's 1. got more than a few clubs keen and 2. hasn't decided on a clear winner.
Collingwood may well seem the best fit for him in terms of where they think they're at (rather how Eddie will sell it to him) and will likely offer their first two 2015 picks or their first picks for 2015 + 2016.
Richmond will likely offer the same and are clearly ahead of Pies in terms of challenging for success.
Carlton (whom he barracked for) will be in a much better position on the trade table with (likely) the top two picks and subsequent higher picks in 2nd round and the 2016 draft. They will trump all others if they are truly keen on the young gun. Despite what Slobbo says (who's been proven time again in 2015 to be one of the worst and one-eyed 'journalists' in the AFL industry) - Blues will have room to target both him and Carlisle after the recent retirements/losses. That guy (Robinson) is the most anti-Carlton/pro-Bombers person in the media... and its embarassing.
Anyway, at risk of this post being purely anti-Robbo - IF Treloar is undecided/hasn't nominated a club soon, the Blues will be in a better position to lure him than many think. Yes, we're at the bottom of the ocean in terms of progress towards our next flag. But there are several reasons that shoot down all of the anti-Carlton dribble of the past 20 pages of this forum:
1. He's only 22. Assuming the Blues do the rebuild properly, we could and should be in a good position to challenge for finals/top four by around 2020 when he'll be 26 and in his prime. Yes, he'll have to be more patient but the recent off-field recruits (Bolton for one) and incoming youth influx (Weitering etc) - he could be rewarded before long.
2. He has a connection to the club that goes back to his childhood. Sure he may no longer care about the Blues, but you can bet that he sees fellow childhood Bluebaggers Buckley and Docherty playing their heart out for the club and smiles a little. SOS would definitely be in his ear, and may have been about such a move from the beginning (when SOS recruited him as a 17 year old to GWS).
Feel free to rip this apart, but with radio silence on the part of AT regarding a club of choice - this is far from a one (or even two) horse race.
Can't speak for the verification of that statement, but I do know Shiel was. Good word was that AT also was... they're your words re 'every player on our list followed Carlton'... not mine. How is it that every star player on our list followed Carlton as a kid.
That must be one hell of a record.
Oh and he wont go to Carlton.
Hes on the way up. Not down.
Well every player that may be up for trading seems to be a blues fan according to Carlton faithful. Can't speak for the verification of that statement, but I do know Shiel was. Good word was that AT also was... they're your words re 'every player on our list followed Carlton'... not mine.
1. GWS weren't going to let Boyd leave in a contracted year, barring a godfather offerWell every player that may be up for trading seems to be a blues fan according to Carlton faithful.
The "just get me here" boyd supposedly was aswell according to blues fans.

So still standing by the "just get me here" statements1. GWS weren't going to let Boyd leave in a contracted year, barring a godfather offer
2. They surely wouldn't have expected (nor would anybody) the ridiculous/desperate amount of money Footscray would throw at him
2. No team would have given up what the Dogs did to get Boyd
Reasons why he won't leave for Carlton
1. They are going to be terrible for at least the next 3 seasons, pushing for top 4 by 2020 is incredibly optimistic.
2. Their recent history demonstrates they are incapable of getting a rebuild right
3. Home ground is at telstra dome
4. Mid tier attendences
5. Mid tier facilities
6. Mid tier football club
7. Entrenched reputation for instability at board level
In short there is a distinct low brow "st kilda" fell about Carlton as a club atm and they are not going to attract anyone until they can shake it.
Basically the clubs in Melb that players want to move to are Hawthorn and Collingwood. Because of ladder position you may add Richmond to this group but I remain unconvinced of their long term credentials tbh.
When is the Giants best and fairest? I reckon he will announce it once that's over unless it's weeks away
Don't get so defensive. Richmond have done nothing yet to demonstrate that they are an entrenched powerhouse in the same manner that Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong have. Until they do so, they will always be at a disadvantage. I mean you haven't won a final for like 30 years, I don't see how richmond supporters keep on missing that point.WOW so one eyed.
here is a funny fact. Our starting 22 this year was with Manadue and Cory Ellis, which makes our starting 22 7 months younger then yours, yet we are playing finals, so to suggest your future is brighter and are the chosen promise land for players is laughable.
If I was Adam I would look at the below
Richmond - Larger crowds then the Pies and any other club ? Check
Richmond - Does it have elite training faculties the best in the land - Check
Richmond- Is this a young list that is finals ready ? - Check. We have a younger 22 and have played in 3 consecutive final campaigns compared to the pies who have missed 2 years of finals.
Also with reading the pies board and this thread I cant find where this confidence is coming from ? I know its that BF poster who mentioned his mate, who apparently works in rentals who said Treloar nominated the pies as a employer ? lol. Firstly, if that was true, its not, but lets say it was, that poster has just made his mate lose his licence and has just got his work place sued, so its rubbish. Secondly, Treloars management and the club he goes to would work out where he is living in the short term till he settles on a place.
All i know, is that the GWS are spot on. He has not made a decision and will this week. The tigers are as good a chance as the Pies as of today. I doubt the blues will get him, as both the pies and tigers have been into this since last year but I guess we will see.
Just making objective opinions... Dogs got Boyd b/c they offered him ridiculous money and gave GWS a deal that was well 'overs' so don't blame either...So still standing by the "just get me here" statements
He wont go there. None of our stars will. Theyll stay or go to clubs who actually care about winning.
Clubs with a bit of pride basically.
and pretty much everyone in the media says we are in front. On a Collingwood forum called extreme black and white there is a poster who is called 'The Scout' who has never been wrong and he says Trelaor has picked pies. That's where the confidence is coming from. Apparently if you make false rumours you get ip banned on there too. Not sure how true that is.
You make the best argument as to why Treloar won't go to Carlton out of all of us imo.Just making objective opinions... Dogs got Boyd b/c they offered him ridiculous money and gave GWS a deal that was well 'overs' so don't blame either...
Your comments about CFC are biased and I won't get drawn into a slanging match. Have we been crap this year? Yes. Have we had one of the worst injury lists of recent times? Yep. Has our off-field issues made everything worse? Undoubtedly. Have certain players played with pathetic attitude and a lack of pride? Yes - and they'll be the first ones out the door in the coming weeks.
The changes to our staff and upcoming clean-out will see a new era for the Navy Blues... it'll be a good few years of building but will hopefully shut up some of the anti-Carlton people that seem to throw out vitriol at will.

There is a pretty good reason why pretty much everyone in the media (other than KB lol) is backing Collingwood as the strong favorite in the race. Richmond posters just need to accept where they lie in the pecking order

Usually a teams history is the best way to base an argument round. It's certainly better than the defeatist Richmond "we've been rubbish for thirty years therefore it is our turn to win a premiership" mentality. As I said stop getting so defensive, you have to earn your success and the fact is Richmond just haven't.Wow so many facts wrong, no surprise. First the pies are not a powerhouse. And two, we have played and won a final in "30 years" we got to a prelim in 2001 . Also this tiger squad is young and making finals campaigns, we will make finals again next year and the year after as in two years most of our guns will be 26....again, the Tigers are in a good spot, underselling that because our previous history of non suscess, does not change that fact.
WOW so one eyed.
