Nah.

B: Brown Butts Doedee
HB: Milera ?? Smith
C: ?? Schoenberg ??
HF: ?? ?? ??
F: ?? ?? ??

R: ?? Keays Laird
Int: ?? ?? ??

I've put together a best 22 of players who have proven themselves beyond a doubt.

If pushed I'd add Thilthorpe, Berry and Jones

Everyone else is still potential. They show bits but disappear. This isn't harsh its just a fact. The players in your best 22 are potential. Means little if they don't cement it. We still lack genuine class midfielders and a second tall forward. ROB while ok and rated highly, continues to be outworked by the better more athletic ruckman in the competition. McHenry may slot in for that small forward role but damn we have holes when compared to the elite.

The team I named isn't locks. Its who I would back to be best 22 in three or four years time AND be good enough to win a flag.

Backline is the only thing close to ready and 100%

Sholl not there yet, Pedlar not there yet, Stephens even if we get him isn't even doing anything more than sholl and pedler for Sydney.
Center only locks are ROB and schoey. Laird and keays need to be upgraded for top 4.
Cook I like hff TT lock McHenry is a sub tagger.
Rankine we won't get, fog is avg gollant has played a game. Berry locked in McPherson is avg and we won't get Horne. The rest minus Hately are avg.
That's a bottom 4 side again if none of the youngsters improve.

No disrespect, but that's a bit of a "no shit" post.

If all of those players WERE developed and ready, we wouldn't be in a rebuild.

We have a LOT of youth that were drafted because they showed serious potential. For most of them, that's still all they've actually showed because they're massively undercooked.

I made about 20 individual comments and you "no shit" them all? Great, we agree on many things.

It was actually a response to someone else's 22. With the likes of Rankine and Stephens included. You think "no shit" we won't get them? Great, me too. You think "no shit" Laird isn't a key mid in a top 4 side? Great, me too. But other people disagree. Good for you thinking our agreed opinions are "no shit" certainties, we must think very alike.

Well, obviously they're not there yet. They're effing children.

(Stephens even if we get him isn't even doing anything more than sholl and pedler for Sydney).
So? He's an absolute kid. He hasn't lost the talent he showed two years ago.

Laird is having an almost AA level year, and could play in any top 4 side in the comp.

(Cook I like hff TT lock McHenry is a sub tagger)
I don't know what a sub tagger is but sure.

(Rankine we won't get)
Absolutely impossible to know that. One of the most gettable young contracted players in the comp.

(fog is avg)
There's a few things he does that are better than average.

(gollant has played a game)
Not yet

(Berry locked in)
Yep, he's a good solid footballer

(McPherson is avg)
Has some excellent tools

(and we won't get Horne)
No shit

(The rest minus Hately are avg)
Impossible to know that. Jones, McAsey etc could absolutely come in and be key parts of a successful team.

According to ABC just now, Lukosius has bought a house at Grange. Good to see that you can still trust your friendly local real estate agent to keep it confidential!!!
If you look through half the players in the afl they probably have multiple investment property's right around Australia. So I'd think nothing of it. Means literally nothing in the modern world of investment.

DEPARTURES
Daniel Talia
Jake Kelly
Ronin O'Connor
Tom Lynch
David Mackay (R)

TRADE
Elliot Himmelberg for GCS 3rd round

RETAIN AS ROOKIES
Ben Davis

5 spots on the main list means we can trade in a Stephens, draft with two early picks and take the two NGAs.

Stephens gets crapped on by the swans board.

Fog I like more than average.

I meant to say gollant hasn't played a game, because that's pretty obvious.

You say impossible to know anything...well that's the only "no shit" I see around here.

Again, just my opinion. You disagree. Cool.

And yeah, I don't think Laird is a top 4 team mid, much like how mcrouch was AA a few years ago, I think he's a bit useless too. But you say "no shit" while also disagreeing.

So if someone says we won't get Horne when replying to someone who has put Horne in our 22 next year, I'm the idiot that gets called out "no shit" ? Lol good one.

Any one heard if we are into Jacob hopper?

Of everything you said - telling someone they're a nuffy for putting Horne in their team is absolutely fair enough.

How do you know the vendor didn’t tell his mates at the pub?

We all agree we need more skillful midfielders. I wonder how much difference they would make to our F50 entries.

This is what I mean- if our F50 entries are terrible (and they often are) is that because the player kicking it kicks it badly, or is it because of the situation? If the F50 kick is a rushed off balance hack out of a pack, does it matter if the player kicking it is Ben Keays or Caleb Daniel?

I am not sure that our problem with f50 entries is more the execution than the method.

I guess you could take it back a step and say that bad kicking further up the ground means that we are not getting the chance to have clean kicks inside 50.

Is it more important for us to get better ball users at half back? Is maybe someone like Luko exactly what we need, either as the player kicking inside 50, or as the player further back in the chain who makes the clean inside 50 possible?

The problem is our older players all still play the bomb it to Tippett/Jacobs game plan that we used to employ under Sando.

Laird, Brown, Mackay, Smith, Kelly and Sloane are all the worst culprits at this. Lynch at least tries to lower the eyes but half of his kicks get smothered.

It's a bit of both, we seen to want to just get it forward with no real consistent plan at times. Better structures will come with time and experience. We definitely need to be making more of our i50s though, small forward crumbing and pressure is non existent for far too much of the game and we'd have to be one of the worst leading teams in the comp.
