To the gif or you stuck it in your arse?Beat me
Which is the exact reason why so many are miffed. A logo is supposed to represent pride in your club/organisation.It's amazing to think about the decision making process.
If it was going to be poorly received so you hide it on US election day, do you really want that as the brand for your club?
Surely the brand you use to sell the club and merch is not something you want to hide

"it now incorporates the actual shape of South Australia"
...when you turn the state sideways and backwards - that defeats the purpose...
The club has been schooled by - of all rivals - the Gold Coast Suns. The club leaked the logo not to gather feedback, but to start the acceptance process early. So that when it came out we were already expecting it.
Burying the news on the evening of US Election results is what a PR person advises when something is going to be received badly. Not when you are proud and want maximum exposure.
Part of me wonders whether we spent a huge amount of money on this project and ran out of time/money to seriously explore alternatives so they just accepted what they got given.
The fact most people can only praise it by saying it's better than the second worst AFL logo of the last decade (after the Suns) - rather than pointing to its inherent qualities as a logo - says a lot
The club has been schooled by - of all rivals - the Gold Coast Suns.
They're clearly proud of their rebrand, having an event to launch their new direction and publicising it well in advance. It feels like Adelaide has been caught out and decided to mitigate the damage by rushing to take out the trash on US election night.

I thought the same. It’s a bit chubbyNow I’ve seen the new logo this one looks fat and stumpy!
Just in time for us to draft Tyler Welsh.I thought the same. It’s a bit chubby

Hope not

Yeah, I figure we've gone from possibly the worst logo in the league to somewhere in the middle. MehPretty much. How many teams with animal mascots actually have good logos? Like logos that you look at and go "Yep. That's pretty ace." West Coast? Collingwood maybe? The rest are all pretty well bog average. No one really cared that Richmond were wearing a Tiger Beer label when they won 3 out of 4. Likewise Geelong and their... whatever the hell that is.
My rule of logos: If we're shit, the logo is shit. If we're good, the logo is not mentioned. If we win a flag, the logo is good.Yeah, I figure we've gone from possibly the worst logo in the league to somewhere in the middle. Meh
If we won a flag with this one would anyone say 'oh but our logo is no good'? It'd be instantly iconic. Whether it could be better.... who cares

Overreacting?Some overreacting going on?
It's seriously not bad
People who want merch will buy merch regardless of the logo
Also it's a football club logo
