The S the G and the sunset/sunrise refracting/reflecting on water all in the one motif.

I haven't heard their explanation of it but that was my immediate interpretation.

Yeah it’s a solid concept.

I don’t think it looks horrendous either. Uninspired, and dated though.

Its the clear difference points between this and other generic fonts. It may sound like wank, in the same way engineering talk for a building development sounds like wank - but is important for maintaining the structure of the building.

I mean it's so generic, you type in "sunset logo" and you get a tonne of these:



I'm also not enamoured with "Fearless" as a tagline either.

I would have thought "Rise and Shine" would have fit better!!

Oh well, they are going to be in our faces for the next 5 years with Hardwick getting all the help he can from the club owners ... better get used to it I suppose.

Yeah, it’s clever. It conveys a lot in one simple design.

Just not overly striking, or footy club-ish.

Tbh I saw G, C and S
A bit like the Carlton monogram thing but in a different style, and a bit more hidden, but still there.
I see a footy, and a setting sun. But I guess on the GC the sun rises over the water so let's call it a sunrise.
Bold red is good.
There are a few niceties to it, butt I's underwhelming in general imo
