The S the G and the sunset/sunrise refracting/reflecting on water all in the one motif. What did you see?
The Sun?
Yeah it’s a solid concept. The S the G and the sunset/sunrise refracting/reflecting on water all in the one motif.
I haven't heard their explanation of it but that was my immediate interpretation.
The custom NinetySeven typeface, a tribute to the Club’s 1997 premiership, combines traditional hand-painted Australian Rules Football lettering with sharp, angular forms that reflect the crow’s aggressive aesthetic. Designed for scalability and versatility, this font maintains consistency across all media. Paired with the clean, modern Suisse sans-serif, the typography strikes a balance between boldness and clarity, ensuring cohesive communication across every touchpoint.
Its the clear difference points between this and other generic fonts. It may sound like wank, in the same way engineering talk for a building development sounds like wank - but is important for maintaining the structure of the building.I don't speak wank, does anyone know what they're trying to point out as being noteworthy in these pictures?

I quite like their logo. But wtf are they doing with the guernseys?
Really? The S the G and the sunset/sunrise refracting/reflecting on water all in the one motif.
I haven't heard their explanation of it but that was my immediate interpretation.
Really?

Where is the "G"? Even the obligatory explainer doesn't show a "G"?

I mean it's so generic, you type in "sunset logo" and you get a tonne of these:

I'm also not enamoured with "Fearless" as a tagline either.
I would have thought "Rise and Shine" would have fit better!!
Oh well, they are going to be in our faces for the next 5 years with Hardwick getting all the help he can from the club owners ... better get used to it I suppose.
Yep it as much of a G as our wings are the state
So you don't see a g at all?Yep it as much of a G as our wings are the state
Sorry didnt mean that, I can see the G if you look for a G, more so than I can see our StateSo you don't see a g at all?
I can only see S…. Even knowing what I’m supposed to be looking for, I can still only see the SReally?

Yeah, it’s clever. It conveys a lot in one simple design.Sorry didnt mean that, I can see the G if you look for a G, more so than I can see our State
Ah the old G spot
Do you see an "O" and a lowercase "e" too?So you don't see a g at all?
I doubt it. Sounds like some bullshit they came up with after the fact.Whilst it doesn’t really matter, I think this dumb line of thinking by the club has led to the messiness of the design in the end.
YepActually don't mind the direction GCS are heading with the away strip... but it still looks like a training guernsey.
I’m wondering if you missed the memo when it was released the logo where that explicitly pointed out the reference to the sa coastline. There was nothing subtle about itI reckon people are overstating the 'map of SA' talk. It's obviously something the've worked into it, but I don't think it's meant to be a major feature of the logo. Some people are making out that it's supposed to be the defining element, which I don't think was ever the intent - more of just subtle nod to the state (which, honestly, is not that hard to make out).
What WILL be interesting is whether the Tassie Devils incorporate a 'map of Tasmania' into their logo...
Rather confusingly though, their actual training guernseys look pretty good.Actually don't mind the direction GCS are heading with the away strip... but it still looks like a training guernsey.
More design in this than the real thing.Rather confusingly though, their actual training guernseys look pretty good.
